We chose this hotel to visit Jyvaskyla - Mattilanniemi Parkrun!! Head across the square and you can get to Parkrun Saturday mornings by lakeside walking/cycling path. This is very convenient location for coach / train travellers, just across the bridge over the railway tracks and you're there! Amazing, we loved it as we arrived late from the airport by train, in -12 temperatures. We booked a double with SAUNA (absolute bliss) and next room for teenage kids. This wasn't the cheapest option, but it was truly wonderful. The rooms were clean and stylish, and the sauna room had coffee maker and some complimentary soft drinks in the mini bar. The sauna is easy to use and surprisingly large :D The breakfast was served until 12 noon on a Saturday morning, which was perfect after parkrun!! The breakfast is amazing, with lots of sweet bakes and all the usual savoury options, like Karelia pies, eggs, bacon, sausages, etc, but they also serves some special extras like smoked salmon, and Finnish seasonal delicacies as it was xmas vacation; we enjoyed riisipuuro (rice pudding) and joulutorttu (xmas pastries). Cannot wait to be back soon!

Boutique Hotel Yöpuu is housed in a 1920s building in central Jyväskylä, 500 metres from Jyväskylä Station. It features a gourmet restaurant, wine bar, as well as free WiFi.

This was an unexpectedly cool cabin in the middle of nowhere (we used it as a halfway point from our drive from Rovaniemi to Helsinki). It is absolutely huge, has an in-built wood sauna, and just everything about it was a little bit different (in a good way). There weren't too many options within a 2hr drive of here, and it looks like an older cabin so we weren't expecting it to be as good as it was, but it was great and would stay there again if ever passing by.

This central hotel is just 150 metres from Jyväskylä Bus and Railway Station. It offers 3 restaurants and free internet. Each room at Original Sokos Hotel Alexandra has a minibar and a work desk.

very good and child-friendly hotel. Very nice SPA, very good saunas and pools with very warm water. Our best experience with a Finnish hotel on this trip (5 days and 4 different hotels) I will gladly come back next time. P.S. very tasty breakfast.
