Ich bin sehr dankbar für ihre Gastfreundschaft, Hilfe, und regelmässigen Fahrten zum Onsen. Als Keramikkünstlerin bin ich sehr an der japanischen Keramik interessiert. Hr. Isozaki war so freundlich, mir das Museum, die lokalen Öfen und Zen Tempel zu zeigen. Unsere Gespräche und seine Einblicke haben meinen Aufenthalt so wundervoll gemacht. Ein ganz besonderer Aufenthalt.

Seit der Renovierung in November ist dies fraglos ein 4+ Sterne Haus, die bisherige Einstufung mit 3 Sternen spiegelt die gebotenen Qualität nicht anähernd wieder. Dieses Ryokan ist ohne Frage eine der Top-Adressen in Takayama.

The house is beautiful and the owner is great. We all fell in love with the house and will definitely go there again as soon as w we can. The ground floor has all the amenities you need, and up on the first floor there were extra sofas, musical instruments, and beautiful national dress from different countries.

Nur 39 km von Burg Inuyama entfernt gelegen, bietet die Unterkunft 百笑宿場couch in Motosu Zugang zu einem Garten, einer Terrasse sowie eine Gemeinschaftsküche. Now, this was something special. An old farm turned.into a vacation home. We could live here! Old and traditional feel, but clean, everything is well taken care of and with modern amenities. Just outside a small village, very peaceful, a great garden and a large net at the gate that should be closed at night to keep wild animals out. Nothing scary, mostly deer and wild cats I suppose 😊. One thing you should know: do some proper supermarket shopping on your way 'home'. Waste of time to drive 10+ km for just a box of eggs. But don't worry about drinking water and ice; this is available in the house.

We were blown away by the kindness and hospitality of the ladies who run the place. It’s located a bit outside of town, but Emi and Junko were always happy to give us a ride. The meals are gorgeously prepared feasts - good luck if you can finish! The hotel also arranged a “Zazen experience” at a historic temple nearby, which was very interesting. We will treasure our memories of the Totoro and its wonderful staff!
