I am a solo female traveler and I felt so comfortable and relaxed in Shorena’s home that I stayed for one week. Shorena and her husband were helpful and generous despite the lack of a common language between us. I was welcomed and treated to some Megrelian specialities. My room was spacious for one person. The street is lovely and quiet, I really enjoyed the atmosphere of being in such a neighborhood. There are many fine examples of Soviet era mosaics and public art works in a wide variety of styles in the surrounding area, many of which are easily accessible by public transport. Some are in better condition than others. Shorena also helped to organize a reasonably priced driver for a longer day trip to Menji and Sujuna. Zugdidi is well worth spending time in if you are interested in more than just the palace and botanical garden.

Most comfortable bed during our trip in Georgia, the entire house is very clean. Irakli and his parents showed outstanding hospitality. We spent 2 rainy days in Sugdidi and had really nice evenings together with the best Chacha we tried during our trip. Basic russian is very helpful if you want to get in contact with them. Irakli, you are welcome in Germany 😊
