Lovely apartment. Met at the door by the host who was very responsive to messages. Great space upstairs but completely separate from hosts home on the ground floor. Very well located with easy walk to castle and other main sites. Warm, clean and with ability to prepare and share food. Would definitely stay again.

Hanbog guest house is simply amazing. The staff are so friendly and are keen to give lots of recommendations. As the guest house is a 30 minute walk from the nearest train station, the owner offers a pick up and drop off service so you are able to get around for day trips. Upon recommendation from the owner, I took a trip to Aizu Wakamatsu and Nanukamachi street - just a short train ride away- and went to Tsuruga castle, the tea ceremony and the Oyakuen medicinal herb gardens. These were all so beautiful and well worth seeing when staying in Inawashiro. The next day, the staff took me to the train station to rent a bike for just 500 yen for the whole day. I cycled half way around the lake, stopping at the beach and at Sanshiro restaurant for chilled soba and vegetable tempura!! So tasty. The homestay is just stunning, with the most incredible views of Mount Bandai. I was very lucky with the weather and had three days of sun. There are fridges in the dorms so you can keep your own food and they were happy to help me heat it up. The showers are so powerful and the facilities very clean! I had a very comfortable stay here, getting very good nights sleep in the comfortable beds and peaceful atmosphere. There are many games to play too to keep you occupied in the evening with the other guests. I actually can’t fault this lovely guest house- one I will always remember.

It was by far the most wonderful stay of our trip to Japan. The elderly couple who runs the guesthouse are incredibly kind, helpful, and warm, which makes you feel like a welcomed guest in a Japanese home, while still having your full privacy. Sleeping on futon beds was such an authentic experience, and the location is also great. If we ever look for accommodation in the same area again, we will definitely stay here. We wholeheartedly recommend it.

Amazing view of rice fields and mountains. I was there out of season but I could only imagine how lovely it is when there are other guests around the bonfire. The host and his mother were very kind lovely people! She played the guitar and sung Japanese songs for me! Coffee on the patio in the morning is priceless and their teas are amazing!

Located quietly in the countryside with beautiful views from the living room. There's actually a lot to see around there. Climb Bandai mountain or visit stunning Bandai Asahi National Park. Daytrip to Aizu-Wakamatsu worth as well! Walk to Inawashiro Lake or rent a bike and cycle around it! Owner very helpful (pick up / transfer to the train station). You can get your Bento warmed up or just buy something to eat or drink at the bar in the guest house! Thanks for an enjoyable stay!
