The Japanese senior couple managing the pension are genuinely the sweetest people we could have dreamed of. Moomin Papa picked us up at the station at arrival and dropped us off (super early in the morning) after checkout. He drove us and the other guests in the morning to the ski resorts nearby and was also willing to pick us up in the afternoon. He was also great at giving dinner recommendations. The pension is simple and welcoming, breakfast is great and all we needed for a full day on the slopes. The onsen is a bit old but we didn’t mind. If you have very long hair it could take a while to dry with the available hairdryer - just to keep in mind. Rooms are nice and warm and the beds are comfortable. WiFi works well. Overall I would say it was a beautiful stay, the hosts and their care in everything they did made the experience 100 times better. Highly recommend!

A Perfect Stay at The Bunk House – Amazing Host & Epic Snow! I had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Bunk House in Myoko, and it was nothing short of fantastic! From the moment we arrived, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. The accommodations were cozy, clean, and perfect for a ski trip. The common areas had a great vibe—ideal for relaxing after a long day on the slopes. But what really made this stay exceptional was the host—super helpful, incredibly knowledgeable about the area, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure everyone had a great experience. And then there’s the snow—Myoko delivered some of the best conditions I’ve ever skied in! Deep powder, endless terrain, and easy access to the slopes made every day an adventure. This guesthouse was serene!! Located in a beautiful location, good driving distances to ski resorts. The place had a fantastic kitchen, superb sitting area, ski rack, bathrooms with onsen like tubs. Just stunning, would have loved to have stayed longer. Thank you so much for having us.

It only takes 5 minutes to reach lift chair 2 when skiing at Myoko Suginohara Ski Resort. The meals are delicious, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Well located guest house in Madarao. Staff were excellent and very hospitable. Lift to/from the main ski area each day as required but we often walked as it was so close and easy. We were picked up from and dropped off at local train stations (Myokokogen and Iiyama respectively) by a staff member. Food was good particularly the one dinner we had at Maroudo. Onsen was a good temperature. Highly recommend.
