We stayed just one night at Hiro's place and we had an amazing experience! The house is lovely in a very traditional Japanese style, and there's a small private onsen too! Hiro really made us feel welcome in his home, and greeted us with lots of kindness. The garden has a lovely pond and the little dog is so sweet! I really recommend Hiro place for an authentic and lovely experience in Japan. Hope we can come back again in the future. Thank you Hiro!

Our stay was absolutely amazing ! The host is very kind and wants to help you for everything. She cooked amazing meals for us. I would like to come again ! Room was nice and warm. Location close to train station is very convenient !

Very pleasant night. The owner of the accommodation takes care of every detail, from your welcome with recommendations on what to visit in the area to a very good and complete breakfast in the morning completely free of charge. The room is very comfortable, futon on tatami, and there are two bathrooms to share with the other guests. You also have the possibility to leave your luggage in the accommodation before and after check-in and check-out. Highly recommended.

Super kind host, it seems that she absolutely loves what she is doing. Very helpful, gave us a lot of information so we could easily navigate the area in no time, even drove us to town to start exploring. She made us tasty breakfast free of charge, asked what we like and it was no problem that we are vegetarian. Look up ikkigai – that's what you experience there in action.

It was really nice getting to chat with the owners when we got there. They were really welcoming and it was kind of like staying with family. When I got sick, I was given medicine and made sure I felt alright. They helped us find food and recommended a great place that was nearby and gave us extra snacks when we left. The art throughout the building is beautiful and if you are interested the owners will talk with you about what is there. The baths were a nice temperature and we never felt rushed.

Amazing experience at Harunikko. We were entranced by the lovely garden and traditional setting. As well as the amazing hospitality from our hosts. Definitely know where to come back to if visiting Nikko again! Though the house is a little walk from town, it is perfectly manageable. They also recommended a nearby local onsen and many other tips and tricks for the area. Highly recommend!
