The son and mother running the guesthouse were wonderful. It's a beautiful location, and because it is fairly far from the station, the son picked us up in his van at the station. We did have to call him to get us (which we knew ahead of time), so it's important to have the capability to do so or otherwise arrange it with the guesthouse host. We thoroughly enjoyed the onsen at the hotel with included yukatas and our very spacious room (had a heater/AC as well!). The sheets and yukatas and towels were impeccably clean and pressed. The son and mother had a lovely cafe with free beverages downstairs, and they also had a wonderful breakfast we paid for in the morning. I feel this guesthouse is truly a hidden gem and highly recommend it to anyone considering it. Easily one of the best places I have stayed at in Japan. My husband and I were so charmed during the whole experience.

The owner was extremely friendly and adaptable to my situation, she was very kind and even let me keep my bags at the property ling after checkout time so that I could explore more of kyoto. The beds are comfortable as well as the toilet and shower facilities.

I loved this place. It was so clean and quiet and the manager couldn't have been more helpful . A real pleasure to work with . Transport links into Kyoto were pretty good too with 20-30 trains every few minutes. Kitchen well stocked , washing machine and even provided a free parking space for my scooter. And best of all a lovely , comfy bed .

A few minutes away from the Kyoto station and has many attractions nearby. A good and safe place for solo travelers. All the necessary facilities are available. The coffee/tea station is opened 24 hours that one can enjoy freely. The staff is very friendly and they can serve as your personal tour guides for Kyoto. My suggestion is to follow their recommendations for food and sightseeing, you wouldn't be disappointed. I really liked the common places. P.S. Don't forget to ask Maki and Sim cute meet :D

Had an excellent stay here. Our room was spacious, clean, had very comfy beds, a comfy sofa, and had easily the nicest bathroom of any of the hotels during our trip. The shower water pressure went almost to jet wash levels which was unbelievably welcome after those long days spent trekking around Kyoto in muggy September heat. Despite being in the middle of busy Gion, the location is down a quiet back street and accordingly there was very little noise from outside at night to detract from a good night's sleep. The AC kept the room nice and cool without much noise as well. All of our interactions with the staff were great. They don't fail to greet you with a smile, and were very helpful on the few occasions we needed assistance with things like booking luggage forwarding. They were also very quick to reply to an email query before our stay which made a strong first impression. There's a pair of coin operated washing machine/dryers on the 2nd floor along with an ice dispenser and microwave. A good selection of travel essentials is available at reception plus a free coffee and juice machine by the front desk. All in all we had a 10/10 stay and I will absolutely look to book a room here again next time I'm in Kyoto.

This was my second time here. The hosts of this family-run small inn are so welcoming and helpful, and the rooms are really comfortable. The location is close to many major sights (museums, temples) and right around the corner from a train station if you want to go farther.
