Location was excellent. Shared kitchen, microwave, kettle etc so you can self-cater with food from supermarket (next door). Very comfortable rooms with Japanese style bedding - new build so everything clean and modern. Hostess is lovely and communicates through a language translation app.

Located in Shingu, 400 metres from Kamikura Shrine, 長徳寺宿坊　Temple Hotel has a garden, private parking and rooms with free WiFi access.

It’s a self-contained 1-room apartment, complete with kitchen and shower-room. All modern. Beautiful clean tatami floor and comfortable futons. Amazingly, as an extra welcome, the kitchen is stocked with a selection of local drinks (including Wakayama-produced saké). The owner met us on arrival, explained everything clearly. All in all, if i come back to Shingu i will definitely want to stay here again.

We had a lovely welcome even though it was a late check in, and he did very well with little English. Even though we were only staying one night, he made us feel very welcome and showed us all the property details. It was a short walk from the train station, with bikes available. The property itself is beautiful and we loved the traditional touches. He even left some Japanese snacks in the room for us. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!!!!

It was the first time I had stayed in a guest house style accommodation and I was very very impressed with the level of detail. It felt like I was at home. The kitchen was very well set and the lovely host had even put my name to welcome me in a card at my door that was very impressive. We arrived early around 12 noon and we were able to drop our bags and at that time so that was really helpful.

It was so clean and cosy. The perfect place to revive after the Kumano Kodo hike! We appreciated all the little touches, like the teabags in the kitchen and the selection of toiletries.

The most beautiful japanese style bedroom I stayed in. Furnished with a low table and a seating pillow, it almost felt like an entire Tina flat. The common room downstairs also looked great! All in all a wonderful guesthouse with a really authentic atmosphere to it!
