One of the most memorable stays! We had the whole house to ourselves, making it such a special experience in a traditional Japanese home. The beautiful Japanese garden within the house ground added to the overall charm. The futon bed and pillow were very comfortable. The kitchen had basic utensils like plates and cutlery, but it was not meant for cooking as there were no pots or pans. Coffee and small bread biscuits were provided. Free parking. Highly recommended.

very friendly and helpful host, who lives next to the Guesthouse and will help you with everything you need! Our room had a Tatami floor and futon bed, which is very comfortable. Spacious and clean house in a quiet area. There is a great Udon restaurant in walking distance, also bus and train station and Supermarkets.

I highly recommend this place. The owner is so incredibly friendly and helpful and gave me a great immersion into Japanse culture and values, not only by the great conversation we had but also by the way he supported me during my stay and even afterwards. The house breathes Japanese history and has a wonderful spacious feel. I stayed in a beautiful room in Japanese style and there is a great living room to read and relax. I am very grateful for this experience and intend definitely to return.

It’s a beautiful house and a quite area ! I had a great time with guesthouse Yashima! Everything is clean and tidy. House owner is very kind and warm. I was pleasantly surprised to see that each person has access to two levels of a bunk bed, where the lower level can be used to put stuff or spend some quiet time (sitting down, it's not tall enough to stand up). This is more than I was expecting! Everything was very clean and it was overall a very pleasant stay. The location was also conveniently close to the train station, as well as the covered shoutengai.

The host was very kind and helpfull. He prepared an amazing breakfast for only a small price. The room was very nice and had an amazing view on the village and harbour. There is a very small but beautiful hike you can do from the house along the coast, where you can also swim. There are bikes that you can use for free to explore the beautiful and cute village of Aji (ask also to watch the movie shot in the village). There are a lot of stone quarries around, a nice ramen place and some nice cafes.
