The hotel is very close to Bundala national park and the host is doing a safari for a very reasonable price. The rooms are nice, there are close to zero mosquitoes and you can't hear the street.

We had a fantastic stay. We arrived and were warmly welcomed. Our room was ready and it looked great. We had a room with sea view. We were immediately offered a beer on arrival and in the evening the host prepared fresh fish, shrimps, chips and rice for us. One of the best dishes we've had in Sri Lanka. The accommodation is located directly at sea, so you have a lot of peace here. The host is very helpful and will make your stay comfortable.

This is a wonderful place to stay; fantastic if you are on a budget and understand the facilities are basic. There is electricity, warm water and a comfortable bed...in a fabulous location with fabulous hosts. You will see an array of wildlife (porcupine, bats, crocs, elephants and exotic birds). Danoushka and Anousha were warm, welcoming and kind. We loved our stay here and felt part of nature. Anousha cooks delicious Sri Lankan food and Danoushka is knowledgeable about the local area; We went on a tuk tuk drive with him to see various temples and sites of historic importance - a highlight of our stay in Sri Lanka. My husband also did an early morning bird spotting safari on the back of a motor bike which enabled him to take some close shots of the abundant bird life. Jungle cabin gave us the experience of "real" Sri Lanka and, as a middle aged couple, it was an absolute pleasure to spend time with the hosts and enjoy their home. We would not hesitate to recommend this as a rustic place to stay...make the most of Danoushka's local and wildlife knowledge and...enjoy the tranquility.

Lovely, accommodating family. Looked after us well. Host took us on an informal safari trip to see animals truly in the wild and history of local boulders. Great pool. Excellent food. Beautiful unspoilt beach but not for swimming.

I am so glad we chose to stay here - the host family are such genuine, warm, helpful and happy people. We didn’t get off at the right bus stop (Debarwewa) and they very kindly arranged for us to be picked up from the Tissa bus stop. Our room was wonderful - comfy beds and pillows, lovely bathroom - everything was new and spotless. There was plenty of room for us and our three teenage sons. There was a couch and coffee table where we could play cards. Susu and Jami cooked us wonderful dinners - the curries were amazing. They organised our safari and Susu woke us up with coffee at 4.15am ready for the safari. Our safari driver - Kassu - was friendly and a great driver. We saw a leopard as well as many other animals. The owners even stood out on the road with us when we left as we wanted to catch a bus - they waved it down and helped us with our bags. Nothing was too much trouble - they let us use the bicycles and we went for a fun ride into town. I would stay again in a heartbeat - my favourite place in Sri Lanka so far!

Lovely stay, such a kind and helpful owner. Served us complimentary drinks on arrival and when we arrived back from the safari. He was so helpful with ongoing travel and brought me to the bus station. Room was spacious and clean, would highly recommend staying in this guesthouse.

The host is just an amazing person (he is doing everything so you feel comfortable), even when we left he still was helping us with different advices. We arranged Safari in Yala from the hotel, and a nice snack and water was prepared for us. The room is in the house of the host, but very clean and comfortable and it was calm. The breakfast was amazing and the host brought us with his tuk tuk for a dinner in the city. We stayed only one night but definitely recommend for others.

Lake Face Cabana is hands down our favorite place in Sri Lanka! We had an unforgettable experience here and we highly recommend this beautiful stay! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the wonderful hosts, who went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. They spent time helping us plan our trip, offering invaluable advice about exploring Sri Lanka. Their two daughters and their playful kitten were the sweetest addition, making our stay even more special. The tree house is tucked away in a peaceful village, overlooking a breathtaking lake teeming with wildlife. We loved waking up to the sounds of birds and spotting turtles swimming by. The tranquility and beauty of the setting offered a truly authentic Sri Lankan experience. The home-cooked meals were simply divine—so delicious and served in generous portions! They also offer a selection of juices. Our room was very clean, and the beds were comfortable too. It is clear that a lot of care goes into maintaining the rooms and making guests feel at home. One highlight of our stay was the Yala Safari with Janaka Safari. This is also a family business and the hosts can help organise. We highly recommend this company.
