Nilowin is run by two brothers which are very pleasant persons. Our room was nicely decorated for our honeymoon. The cooking class my wife took was superb! Overall it was a nice stay, I wished we could stay longer :)

Exceptionally clean and modern room for a given price. Shower with a door, enough towels, toiletries and beautiful view if you wake up early enough before a mist comes. The lady who takes care of the facilities is very kind, gave me a lot of tips of how to move around and organised a tuktuk tour for the morning. Also she cooks delicious rice and curry. Highly recommend staying here.

My stay at Thumb Up was truly special! Ghanty made me feel really welcome and at home, the atmosphere is one of familiality and kindness towards their guests. The room was clean and very comfortable, perfect to settle in after a long day of exploring Haputale and the beautiful nature around it with a scooter you can rent directly from them. Watching the sunset from the roof terrace overlooking the tea plantations and hills really rounded off every day and made my stay even more enjoyable. Beautiful property, outstanding views, excellent hospitality and service, awesome breakfast. The host was very welcoming and caring. He gave us lots of suggestions for things to do and also organised a tuk tuk driver for us. It’s a short walk to the train station and eating places. Any questions or concerns were immediately attended to. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend this homestay and we would happily stay again!
