the owners were wonderful. great food, excellent recommendations for sightseeing (they provided even a bicycle to go there), wake-up-service at 4.15am for the safari, free „taxi“-service to their neighbour to see deer and to the bus station. and the owners love animals, help you spot birds or crocodiles by the river. just excellent!

After some time travelling I feel safe to say that you can tell the difference between people just making money of you and people who really know what they are doing and want the best for you. And Priya only wants the best for you and he will go out of his way to give you anything you want. From picking us up at the bus stop for free, coming to get us when it started raining and we were in the city, taking us to a beautiful little safari around the lake at sunset showing us lots of birds, crocodiles and bats, recommending us which buses to take from and to other destinations, to organizing the best safari we could hope for. He recommended us to do a full day in block 1 and we are really happy we took his advice. Priya works with very experienced guides and we had an amazing safari and even though it was peak season we managed to be most of the day alone and witness the park for what it is with its beauty and variety of animals. The accomodation itself is quite simple but it was more than enough for us. Nice clean room, good wifi, good AC, good food, comfortable bed. Absolutely recommend!

The site is a 10 and the room is also excellent. Often in hotels they are annoying and insistent so that you hire excursions, transportation, etc. with them, but this has not been the case. I saw the rice harvesting process.

The family that run Viveka are just wonderful. The actual property is superb, hidden behind a back road and opening up to a gorgeous rice paddy filled with exotic birds. The gardens that you can chill, sit and eat in are also so beautiful. We saw turtles in their river, it was really cool. The Safari they booked for us was AMAZING. Our guide was the first one at any leopard siting and just absolutely blew us away. We cannot recommend booking safari through Viveka enough. Our safari guide was called Sule.

The service. It was fantastic and better than some 5 star hotels. Sanjeewa and his aunt went out of the way to take care of me and my family and prepared some delicious authentic Srilankan food as lunch and breakfast. The property itself is so well kept and faces the rice paddy field. We also booked the safari through them and got to see so many animals. Because we traveled with out 80 yr old grandma, they were extra careful which really helped. If we visit again, we will surely only stay at this Guest house.
