Having come eight times to Kathmandu, Nirvana Kuti is the best place I ever stayed in Kathmandu: Just a few steps south of Durbar Square, you can enjoy authentic life of the city - so close and at the same time so far away from the tourist area. This place and neighbourhood feels completely safe also for solo women travellers. During the day, the street is bustling, during the night it is completely calm. The house is newly built, the room is nicely designed, the lamps give a warm light and the beds are very comfortable. Everything is spotless clean. The WC with shower (solar heated water) is private and you can also enjoy a small kitchen for making tea or coffee. Even drinking water is provided! There is a safe possibility for leaving your luggage while trekking (2 dollars/day). The owner is very friendly, speaking excellent English, he is extremely helpful and responsive to your questions and demands. You can also book a pick-up from the airport. NIrvana Kuti is the ideal place for independant travellers, I am looking forward to come back as soon as possible!

Helpful staff, spacious room, and its quiet neighborhood.Their staff is very friendly and helpful. I went to EBC and they helped keeping my 1 kg baggage for nearly ten days. And still remember me. There are also good cafes and restaurants nearby.

The owner and the staff were incredibly helpful and very welcoming. They were always ready to answer questions and give directions and even recommended a good restaurant and timing for momo. The owner also helped me to book the tourist bus without charging any commission. The room was simple but very clean and well-maintained. I love my short stay here. I will definitely reserve a stay here if I ever visit Kathmandu again.

We liked everything! The staff were super friendly and helpful. The location, was so quite, what a surprise waking up with the birds! Easy to walk and explore Kathamadhu. And was also very clean with nice sheets and a good hot shower.
