Our stay at Chalet Sofija totally exceeded our expectations (which are quite high), from the moment we arrived till the moment we had to leave. First of all, the location of the chalet is out of this world, with views that take your breath away from every angle you look, whether from the room, while enjoying a nice dip in the infinity pool or eating breakfast or dinner from the terrace. The photos do not do it justice, it is unbelievable how beautiful this place is. Secondly and not less important, the hospitality of the hosts, Pop and Aleksandra together with the Manageress Alenka was exceptional throughout our stay and they went out of their way to make us feel at home and that is how we felt during the whole of our stay there. To top it up, the food was expertly prepared and was one of the finest dining experiences we have encountered, exceeding the level of many Michelin star restaurants we have dined at. Pop’s innovative cooking presented us with amazing and delicious dishes with a twist, not only for dinner but also for breakfast. He also served us with very good Slovenian wines that went really well with the dishes served. And, if this was not enough, the room was huge, exquisitely and modernly decorated but perfectly fit with the surrounding nature and offered panoramic views over the surrounding mountains and forest, with a huge terrace from where we could enjoy this beautiful nature up close. I don’t think we will ever find an accommodation in Slovenia that comes even close to what we experienced at Chalet Sofija.

The location is amazing with breath-taking views of the Alps in the Vršič Pass. Lots of things to see nearby. The staff were very helpful and helped us with info regarding hikes, trails, hidden gems nearby, etc. The the rooms were very clean and cozy with nice views. Food was also really good. The private bedroom with private bedroom I had was PERFECT for my stay! The staff is super helpful and you can get in touch with them easily. The room is very spacious and the bathroom is pretty luxury too! Plenty of shower space, 2 big windows and a great cozy vibe. So worth it! The position is perfect too, only 30 minutes on foot from Jasna Lake and 5 minutes on foot from Mercator (the closest grocery store) and 8-9 minutes on foot from the bus station!

The host was exceptionally warm and happy to assist with any question, including drawing us a travel route we needed. I was truly glad to stay with such a kind and pleasant person. The room we received was clean, quiet, and tidy, and just a short walk from the town center. The shared bathroom and shower were clean, spacious, and well-organized, with plenty of warm and pleasant water. The room is on the ground floor, so there's no need to carry suitcases upstairs, and the nearby parking makes everything very convenient!
