Spacious and comfy room with a balcony and new furniture, nice bathroom, well-used space. We liked friendly staff and proximity to Traunsee. There were many opportunities for biking and hiking. We came there for a bike trip and it met our expectations regarding bike routes. The hotel is well-located, close to grocery stores and more.

We only stayed here for one night, but the accommodation pleasantly surprised us. We were traveling by motorcycle, and the host kindly offered us parking in the garage, which we truly appreciated. The guesthouse is located in a quiet area, which we really liked. The view of the lake is beautiful, especially at sunset. The restaurant was incredible – everything was excellent. We would highly recommend this place.

My wife is vegan and when we asked about a vegan spread that is not sweet, she went to buy us a few options for the next breakfast.
She also helped us to plan our trip when the weather wasn't the best and did some phone calls for us. And always with a smile!

Had a wonderful stay at Gasthof Engelhof! The staff were beyond friendly and welcoming, food was amazing, my room was quiet and cosy, but more importantly clean and I assume recently renovated. The hotel is a short walk from the tram station Gmunden Engelhof, and easy to reach. Highly recommended!

Great location not far from the lake. It is a sleepy town but it is a good place to stay for a night before moving on. There is a car park attached to the Gasthof which is handy. Our room was a good size and had everything we needed. Breakfast was laid out for us when we came down in the morning. Breakfast is as basic but did the job
Typical Austrian format of pension, good value for money. The rooms are nice and clean, with a beautiful view from the balcony. The breakfast was good, but the owner was quite surprised about the request for tea instead of coffee. In general, good choice for a night or two.
