There are games and books for the free time, and they had food options for people with restrictions (Im vegetarian and have an allergy to gluten). There are hot water for shower (you just need to know that you should open it for a bit, and not all the way). Also there is a service of transporting your big muchilas to the end of the trail, and a lunch bag to go. Above all the hospitality was so lovely, we got help with everything we needed (including a ride to the atm!). Would definitely recommend!

Decorated with lively-coloured bedspreads and walls, rooms at Quito Colonial House are very bright. Some of them have private bathrooms. Laundry service is available. My wife and I stayed in a private room with a shared bathroom. Our room was cosy and tastefully decorated with some Ecuadorian artworks and textiles. But the highlight here has to be the lovely common areas, which included a TV lounge, shared kitchen and dining area on the third floor, as well as a room with games, a beautiful garden and outdoor gym area on the first floor. We could even store our luggage for free here. Location-wise, we could walk to the historical centre of Quito easily; the Central Market (Mercado Central) is less than two blocks away too, which was perfect if we wanted to have local food for breakfast or lunch, or to buy groceries.
