The hotel is in the middle of the jungle which makes it really beautiful. You can explore everything by kayak (they are free), there is a swimming platform in the river and there are a lot of hammocks and seating areas in the hotel to just enojoy yourself. Although it's remote you can easily reach the town of rio dulce by boat which the hotel staff can arrange for you. The staff is really friendly and helpful - knowing spanish makes your life a lot easier, but some speak english or even german. You can get everything from water to food at the hotel. The rooms and the bathroom were very clean, there are mosquito nets over the beds and the fan is really powerful. Very good value for money!

Julio was lovely and the place is as shown. A lovely basic homestay in the middle of nowhere. We were basically the only people staying when we came which was lovely but I can imagine it could feel crowded if it was busy. There's a small shop 2 mins walk through the jungle where you can buy staples but only occasionally has fruit/veg. You're in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do apart from admiring the beauty around you, perfect for what we wanted but don't expect lots to do! Can go swimming in the river.
Hostal Blood Moon is situated in Rio Dulce and has a plunge pool and pool views. This guest house features free private parking, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi.

Exotic, quiet and restful hostel experience in the lake and tropical jungle. Well managed, Swiss-run, with decking, fans, and comfortable bar and restaurant with a good menu. Free kayaks. Dorms with fans. Staff were helpful in organising trips and shuttles.
It is difficult to say anything positive about the actual accommodation but the surrounding area was beautiful. We rented a kayak and explored the area and it was stunning. So peaceful and tranquil with wonderful flora and fauna. Julio the host was also very friendly and the kitchen is large and well stocked.
