A perfect stay in a beautiful Samosir Island! Dimmer is a very kind and attentive host who cares a lot for the wellbeing of his guests. The rooms are impeccably clean. Also, The location in Tuktuk is great with nice restaurants around. Also, the hot showers are a great bonus! I would definitely stay at Matraville again anytime.

Our first stop in Sumatra was at Lilly's Guesthouse, where we were very warmly welcomed by her and her husband Ishako. From the first moment we felt welcome and completely at home. We booked a two-day jungle trek. Our adventure began on the second day after our arrival, together with our guide Iman and a French couple, Carolane and Romain. There was immediately a nice click, and so we trekked into the jungle together. Blood, sweat, but no tears - what an experience! Without Iman, the trek would definitely not have been the same. What a top guy! After two days of trekking and a night's sleep in the middle of the jungle, we arrived safely back at the guesthouse. How happy we were to finally shower again and sleep in a comfortable bed! As icing on the cake, we also enjoyed a wonderful massage - how good that felt! After that we wanted to travel on to Lake Toba, and coincidentally that was also Lilly's plan with her family. Transportation was completely arranged by them, and together we traveled to our next destination. Along the way, we had lunch together, took the same ferry and once again shared beautiful, enjoyable moments. In Tuktuk our paths parted, as we had each booked our own guesthouse, but we met up a few more times. Each time it was a warm reunion! What we really want to say: we felt like one of them. Beautiful room with a view overlooking the lake, the bed was the most comfortable we have stayed on our travels around Asia. The breakfast is delicious! The guesthouse has recently opened and been refurbished in a modern way with a Balinese feel. The family are so friendly and helpful as are the staff.

It was a really pleasant stay!! We stayed here 2 nights before our jungle trek and 1 after as we really liked it. You have your own private terras with an amazing river view! The room was very clean and even has a ventilator so you can have a chill breeze when sleeping. The staff is extremely nice and they will do everything to serve you. They have just built a new terras that will open soon and serves cold drinks but even now they will jump on the motorcycle and fetch whatever u want. The breakfast is included and banana pancakes are always a good idea. It is not in the city centre but with a little hike of 10 minutes you are already there and in return you have a really beautiful view and only the sound of nature. In resumé, i really recommend this place if you are looking for something in Bukit Lawang.

Alek, the owner is really welcoming and helpful. The food is cheap and really good. The organisation of the treck was perfect The place is central and the view on the river really appeciable. Good value for money. I recommand.

A beautiful spot just far enough from town to be quiet, but still an easy walk. Excellent food and wonderful service. Very comfortable. A perfect spot to discover Bukit Lawang and Gunung Leuser NP.

Many colourful reef fish species, trumpetfishes, box fishes, turtle, stingray and lionfish..., etc. are surprising me in this secrete snorkelling spot just outside Seagate. The room is very clean and comfortable, making me feel like at home. Free WiFi is also pretty good inside room, at balcony and restaurant that I did not expect in such natural environment before. Borja & Yuyun can assist all you want in the island such as transportation arrangement, watching dolphin/ snorkelling, renting car, and activity information......, etc..
