Our room was spacious, clean, had very comfy beds, a comfy sofa, and had easily the nicest bathroom of any of the hotels during our trip. The shower water pressure went almost to jet wash levels which was unbelievably welcome after those long days spent trekking around Kyoto in muggy September heat. Despite being in the middle of busy Gion, the location is down a quiet back street and accordingly there was very little noise from outside at night to detract from a good night's sleep. The AC kept the room nice and cool without much noise as well. All of our interactions with the staff were great. They don't fail to greet you with a smile, and were very helpful on the few occasions we needed assistance with things like booking luggage forwarding. They were also very quick to reply to an email query before our stay which made a strong first impression. There's a pair of coin operated washing machine/dryers on the 2nd floor along with an ice dispenser and microwave. A good selection of travel essentials is available at reception plus a free coffee and juice machine by the front desk. All in all we had a 10/10 stay and I will absolutely look to book a room here again next time I'm in Kyoto.

Located in the centre of Kyoto, 雅 is a recently renovated accommodation, which provides soundproof rooms. The air-conditioned accommodation is less than 1 km from Gion Shijo Station. The guest house features family rooms. The owner was very welcoming and responsive, which I truly appreciated. The room itself was lovely, with private shower and toilet. There’s also a kitchen available for guests. And I also enjoyed the pleasant incense on the first floor :)

Sanjusangen-do Temple is 1.6 km from the guest house, while Shoren-in Temple is 1.2 km away. Itami Airport is 46 km from the property. Every detail of our stay was perfect! The location in my opinion, is the best in Kyoto. It was very comfortable, clean and everything was mindfully thought of. The hosts were the nicest people we’ve met. They showed us so many beautiful places in Kyoto and really cared for us to have a good stay. Maybe one of the best places i’ve stayed in. Next time in Kyoto I’ll definitely stay here again.

She and her husband were incredibly kind, always ready to help, and extremely accommodating. The apartment is beautiful and equipped with every comfort you could imagine—kitchen, kettle, washing machine, drying space, iron, teas and coffee, soaps, and more. The location is also perfect for exploring all the neighborhoods of Kyoto. We truly had a wonderful experience, and when we return to Kyoto, staying here again will definitely be a plus!
