We only stayed one night and when we got to the house we were so sad we didn’t book longer!!! The host is so kind and clean! Our room was amazing, clean, the toilet and bathroom are modern - it’s a traditional but modern and warm house - and I loved the common area/living room. Everything we needed was provided, from tea to towels. It’s a great location for exploring the lower, less touristy parts of Japan, but simply beautiful!!!! shares Nara. This was our second stay at Slow House, and next time we are in Nara, we will book with them again. The room was very comfortable, with futon-style beds and an admittedly small washroom with a small stand-up shower that's otherwise fantastic. The staff are delightful, and they remembered us from our last visit, so that was really nice. The location kind of can't be beat, since it's very close to main streets for food and shopping, but tucked away where it's quiet. Many attractions like Todaiji and Kasuga Tanisha are either within walking distance, or a short taxi or bus ride away. Also lots of hidden gems, and the staff have some favourites all ready to list 0 including vegetarian and vegan restaurants. Arranging for therapeutic massage services with Aroka Spa is easy through the desk staff, and can even be arranged for in-room, with a small adjustment to the price of the service. It's a simple place that nonetheless manages to make our stay special every time.

I miss the people I met there - both hostesses and guests. They gave me free sake drinks and we sat in the common room, chatting about our travel and our life. It felt like home. He is so friendly and recommended an amazing sushi restaurant. You can tell he really takes pride in his ryokan. The common area was lovely to spend time in and it was no issue storing our bags. The location is also easy to get to by bus from the JR station and it's a short walk to the main Nara sights (or you can rent his bikes for cheap). So welcoming and comfy. 10/10 recommend.

The hosts are very nice and caring. The breakfast was amazing and perfectly prepared. The bedding was very comfortable, the bathrooms and toilet extremely clean. The living room was very cosy and nicely decorated. The location was 3 minutes walk from the train station, peaceful and beautiful surroundings. The hosts were very helpful the whole time,they even organised for my luggage to be transported to the next hotel. Overall, an amazing stay, highly recommended!!!
