It was designed by the owner and you can see the personal care behind it. Bunks in dorms are clean, spacious and super cozy with the wooden aesthetic. The staff was so welcoming and generous, it was great to be able to meet them as a solo traveller and made it feel like I was staying with friends. Walking distance to train station and large supermarket only 10 mins away. I wish I could have stayed longer and I will come back here if I come back to Shikoku.

At the guest house, the units have bed linen and towels. We were very fortunate to have a chance to stay at Hakata Plus homestay. The unit was new and very clean. it was also very close to Hakatajima Bus Station. Lawson mini market was just beside the bus stop. The host Keiichi and wife were very friendly and extremely helpful. So coincident it was Cherry Blossoms at Hirakiyama Park, appreciate Keiichi to drive us there for sunset view. We were so excited to see the beautiful Sakura all over the mountain. Really appreciate his kindness to spend time for us. The homestay's view was excellent in which the window screen focuss the entire view of the beach, island and the Oshima Bridge. It was the perfect stay among many places we stayed in Japan. Highly recommended place to stay for those whose come to Hakata Island

Situated 47 km from Mannou Park, Cosmos Guesthouse Iya Valley in Akano features rooms with air conditioning and free WiFi. The property has mountain and quiet street views, and is 48 km from Kotohiragu Shrine. The accommodation provides a shared kitchen, free shuttle service and luggage storage for guests. I liked everything about this accommodation. It was very clean, had all the amenities, and the bed was very comfortable. It’s a beautiful traditional guesthouse surrounding by nature, small gorge and tea plantation. I don’t know why people were complaining about the distance between the station and the guesthouse, the walk in between the station and the guesthouse is beautiful and refreshing. It’s just a beautiful valley with beautiful scenic views from every side. The owner also offered a pick up and drop off service. His family also picked me and other travelers for the local Yokai festival and I had an amazing time at the festival. I highly recommend this guesthouse. Due to time constraints, I couldn’t do the kayaking activity with the owner but next time I come back, I will definitely do. Thank you.

We had an incredible stay with a stunning river view, where the green-blue water and private balcony made for a perfect escape. The room was comfortable, and my personal highlight was the handmade mugs, carefully selected by the owners at a local farmers market, showcasing beautiful Japanese ceramic craftsmanship. Sipping coffee while gazing at the river became a special ritual during my stay. It was a peaceful, authentic experience that I’ll always remember—truly the highlight of our trip!

The kids were so attracted to the Atari TV game console and it brought back such fond memories for us. House was super clean and modern, and well equipped. we loved the comfort of sleeping on plush futons in the tatami bedrooms. Unit was only 3 minutes from a huge super mart. Highly recommended.
