Super friendly staff, they were good at trying to communicate with those who couldn't speak Japanese, loads of English written explanations if you need them. Warm and comfy rooms. Slightly set back from the most touristy part of the town which I liked. It's all so close anyway that it really isn't a bother.

This guesthouse is located along one of the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes and Yunomine Hot Spring, said to be one of the oldest hot springs baths in Japan, is a 5-minute walk from the property. We stayed there for one night while trekking the Kumano Kodo. Basically, everything was perfect for a one night stay after a long day of hiking. The capsules were spacious and quite private actually. The bento box provided for dinner was tasty. There are three private onsens that you can book. Yunomine Onsen itself is very lovely and you can easily continue your trek either on foot or by bus, as the bus stop is very close. Would definitely stay there again!

The environment is cozy, clean and has everything you need. The common area is very warm and cozy. The room where I was was also quite spacious and had a shower and toilet. The staff is friendly and welcoming, as a solo traveller I enjoyed spending some time chatting with them and other people around. I had dinner there, and food and beer were really good! They also had great recommendations for food and places to visit. There is also a public bath nearby for which they provide towels and soap and entrance at discounted fee.

This was my favourite accommodation during my latest trip to Japan. Such a beautiful house! The host is incredibly kind and welcoming, made my stay relaxing. Really lovely to meet him in person. :) He thoughtfully prepared everything I wouldn't even think of bringing with me. I felt so welcomed in Shingu, thank you and I would love to be back. :)

Very friendly and helpful host. Run me through all the equipment and helped with my luggage and time issue. Also the room is super clean and equipped with everything you need. Definitely recommend.

It is located 29 km from Kamitonda Concert Hall and features full-day security. The guest house has parking on-site, a hot tub and a shared kitchen. Minshuku Wago is truly an exceptional place! The owner is incredibly kind, and the hospitality was the best we've experienced. It was a rainy and chilly day, and the owner kindly asked if we would like to use the ofuro, we said yes, and the owner prepared everything perfectly for my husband and me. The room was spacious and clean, and we appreciated having access to laundry. They also provided three delicious meals, including a bento for our Kumano Kodo hike. We felt so well taken care of. highly recommended!
