We had an amazing stay at the Makai surf house! The room was spacious with a private bathroom, felt very clean and was nicely air conditioned. The staff were exceptional, so friendly and helpful. We rented motorbikes and they gave us good guidance on what to do in the area. The location is super peaceful and away from the hustle of Ahangama, so probably best to have a motorbike (although we also walked to the beach & cafes).

Break fast provided was very delicious. Buses will stop in front of the property. Front yard has some greenery with sitting area for having evening chit chat.

Susanna and Tusharo (please excuse me if I’m misspelling the names :) were wonderful hosts. Welcoming and informative. It really felt like our own house. Spotless clean, equipped with everything a traveler needs, beautiful nature around, a garden well kept. Another great thing is the hosts really care about animals and Tusharo shared fascinating information about the connection local people share with the sea turtles (we got lucky and swam with them). The beach has some great surf. Would love to come back and stay more.

Also, there are a lot of restaurants and bars on the beach nearby. I totally recommend this place.
