Located within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of George Town, Ren I Tang Heritage Inn is located in a restored building from the 1800s. Spanning an area of 3 shop house units, the property features free WiFi, a restaurant and small museum on the ground floor, which used to be a medical hall. The room was beautiful, spacious and that tub was incredible. The staff were so sweet and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves.

At the guest house, the units have a desk. There is a private bathroom with bidet in some units, along with slippers, a hair dryer and free toiletries. At the guest house, each unit is equipped with bed linen and towels. Loved it and the staff were really attentive. Will come back again!!

The property features inner courtyard and quiet street views, and is less than 1 km from Rainbow Skywalk at Komtar. The guest house has family rooms. I had an amazing stay at Melayu Villa. The room was super clean and spacious, the bed very comfortable, and the location was perfect, so close to all of the main places in Georgetown, including so many amazing restaurants and cafes. The host was so great, super responsive and incredibly helpful with so many golden recommendations for restaurants and local spots. Absolutely recommend this place, just book it!!

Rainbow Skywalk at Komtar is less than 1 km from the guest house, while Penang Times Square is a 18-minute walk away. Penang International Airport is 14 km from the property. Really lovely place! The room was clean and modern and the hosts were so helpful. They sent us some brilliant guides that we used to see the city, they were responsive to our messages and sent a staff member to say hello when we arrived. There was even some bread provided in the communal area, in case we got hungry. We did, and it was delicious - we think it was coffee flavoured. Do note that the private bathroom is just across the hallway, but the place was lovely and quiet and was in no way an issue at all. Would absolutely recommend this place.

Probably the best homestay I've ever been, in Malaysia for sure. The 3 hosts are all amazing person and you can fell it from the atmosphere inside the house. They put love and care in every little details of this charming and historic house. They take care of you, give veery detailed and exhaustive advice of what to see and to do in town, so you can experience the real and authentic George Town. There is always water and some snack and fruit for free ready for you, and in the morning also a little tast of real Malaysian food. Thank you guys, you are amazing. Most important, there are at least 3 lovely cats that makes this "house a home". Also perfect location in the heart of the beautiful city of George Town.
