Guethouse Mountain was exactly what we were looking for: authentic, private, and peaceful, with a beautiful location in the mountains. There was a stunning view of the mountains from the balcony, where we enjoyed both breakfast and dinner in a calm and relaxing atmosphere. We had fresh eggs from the property’s own hens for breakfast . Our host and the rest of the family were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the host spoke good English. The rooms were very clean, with comfortable, firm beds and a private bathroom with shower and toilet. Dinner could be ordered in advance, and it was possible to get sandwiches for hiking. All in all, a perfect place to enjoy the peace and nature of Valbone.

We had a really lovely stay here after our hike from Teth. They have 4 ensuite rooms which have a really nice rustic charme. We even had an amazing mountain view from our window. They make sure you have everything that you need. They also offer a homemade traditional Albanian dinner, which we highly enjoyed after a day of hiking. We highly recommend staying here.

* Helpful owner, he packed breakfast and lunch for us (included in the price of the room) so that we could start hiking early and arranged dinner for us at a local family guesthouse the night we arrived. * location is beautiful: beautiful view of the valley and this side of the mountain is unspoiled compared to Theth. Hiking to Theth from here is around 10-12 km (~5km less than from Valbona) and takes about 4-5 hours.

Such kind and lovely hosts, always there and ready to help every which way they can. Great dinner menu and nice breakfast, served in the garden with picturesque mountain views. We really wished we had booked more nights at Skender Selimaj, would definitely come back.

The guesthouse is not only set in an idealic setting at the base of the mountain with spectacular scenery, but it is moments from the trail. The owners were extremely helpful and kind. Dinner and breakfast were both amazing, and as farm to table as you can get, down to the honey and cheese, made by the owner. I was in a room with three single beds. My room shared a modern, clean washroom with another bedroom upstairs. Staying at this guesthouse, meeting the owners and enjoying the meals has been a highlight of my trip to Albania. I wish I had stayed longer!

This was like having a lovely home stay experience. Our room was basic but adequate, and was good value for money. There was easy access to a comfortable balcony with a magnificent view. The food was plentiful and home grown and cooked by our very lovely hosts.They were helpful in finding transport to the Valbone trail head. It was overall a great experience .

Lovely host family that was really welcoming. Great location as it is a short walk from the town centre. Delicious dinner provided by the host for an extra 9 euros and they also provide packed lunch for a small fee if you are doing the hike to Theth the next day.
