Annelore and Ilton are lovely people who took really good care of us after arriving sick. They were really helpful during our entire stay and made sure we hade a good time. The whole hotel is furnished with love for the details which makes the rooms feel really cozy. The vegan food that is prepared fresh daily was delicious and we couldn’t be happier to have found this place in the Paul valley. We loved the rooftop terrace where the breakfast and dinner are served, which undoubtedly has the best view in town! Overall, the atmosphere is really familiar and everyone was always up for a nice conversation.

We had a marvelous 14 day stay at Luz d'Sol. João and his family are such lovely and generous hosts, João and his eldest son are also good cooks. Comfortable room with terrace, excellent bedding, splendid and plentiful breakfast which varies from day to day. Cidade das Pombas is the best part of the island to discover the island anyway, and João knows everything you might need to know.Totally recommended!

Tony is a great host and very knowledgeable about the local area. He is always kind and willing to help or lend advice. The breakfasts were great and make for a lovely atmosphere where guests have an opportunity to meet eat together each morning. The guest house is very serene, set amongst the hills and sugar cane fields of Eito. It's a perfect location, away from pombras, nestled in the valley. It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. I would definitely recommend staying here. Thanks Tony

Fernanda & Emmanuella and their staff were really kind warm and welcoming. They have a beautiful swimming pool with sunbeds around it to relax and enjoy the magnificent vibrant coloured flowers, shrubs and trees in the grounds. Extra towels were offered for us to lie outside on. Breakfast was outside in a covered area where little birds flew on and out. Lots of options with juice, fresh fruit, cold meat, cheese with bread rolls and cooked omelettes and various sweet and savoury treats. I expected not to be happy about sharing a bathroom but it was like we had our own bathroom as close as in a hotel and we never saw the people who we apparently shared it with. So don't be put off by the shared bathroom. We had about a 7 minute walk to have dinner out in local restaurant, Bellcantoo in Ribiera Grande. We were allowed to swim in the pool and sit around until well past checkout time as we had a taxi booked for 2pm. Wonderful hospitality.

Wery good location. Clean room. We like breakfast, which they serve any time, also early in the morning. Staff friendly, always smiling, but they talk only portugal.
