Amazing location overlooking the beach and the pier. Only 20 minutes drive from Clifden and Sky road. We got a free room upgrade, which was much appreciated. The host was very nice, she even gave us a charger for our phones to keep, as we had forgotten to get an adapter (life saving). Would recommend to anyone visiting Connemara.

Rustic farmhouse setting with charm and a down-home feeling. Michael was the consummate host. Very personable and warm. Also cooks up a great breakfast. You’re 5 minutes from the town of Clifden with lots of dining options and shops. We enjoyed Guy’s Pub. If we find ourselves this way again, we’ll return. We loved the host’s Border Collies, Lily and Rosie!

Everything was A*. I couldn't believe how clean the place was. The shower could have been brand new for all I could tell. Bed was super comfy. We had a view out onto the Pony showground and river which was lovely. Breakfast was delicious. Location was central to everything. Booking.com kept asking me if I wanted to upgrade to a room with a toilet. This was a mistake with booking.com as all the rooms are ensuite. Michael replied to my question about this in a timely manner and was equally friendly, helpful and welcoming in person. The house keepers and people doing breakfast were amazing.

Buttermilk Lodge offers self-catering apartments 5 minutes' walk from Clifden town centre, you can just park your car and easily walk to town.

We had a really great stay at Buttermilk. The lodge is surrounded by greenery but 5 minutes walk from Clifden centre. The staff is super nice, the structure and rooms are cozy and clean and breakfasts are GREAT! It's a perfect position to visit Connemara and would absolutely recommend it.
