This was wonderful location to stay. The both kindly hosts and the family were so lovely and engaged in our satisfaction. The phantastic food and the great chance to join breakfast and dinner together was unique. We enjoyed the time in oniwa very much !!

Enjoyed staying here on our way from Nagasaki to Fukuoka. Takeo onsen is a beautiful little town with nice public onsen. The owners were so nice and friendly, helping us decide which public onsen to try and giving us good restaurant recommendations. We loved visiting Takeo shrine and the magical 3000 year old camphor tree 15 minutes walk from the guesthouse. Also highly recommend the cute Coffee Shop almost next door to the guesthouse.

The host was so thoughtful in the way he arranged the house and prepared useful items for our stay in the house. From a drying rack/laundry clips, to cooking utensils and various sauces and condiments, to additional bedding, we had everything we needed.

The owner was super welcoming and friendly! He even gave us a gift (a painting he made himself!) just before we departed. The Guest House itself was very unique and traditional. It was comfortable with heaters around the house to keep you warm, and a cute cat to roaming about.

The guesthouse is a beautiful Japanese house located in a pottery town. The Japanese room is a very spacious room with its own sitting and dining space. The host Miss Hanneke is a kind and helpful lady who offered lots of assistance during my stay. She helped me to collect my lost backpack last January from the JR station and kept it safe for me so I could get it back. She even offered to drop me off at Arita station when I needed to leave although she was very busy with the preparation work for the upcoming Japanese holiday. I couldn’t thank her enough for her kindness.

Ideal in every sense - there is nothing remotely comparable in Arita. On every level, an ideal location to stay. If you are interested in ceramics, well, welcome to heaven on earth. Absolutely brilliant. The price might seem a bit high but you get what you pay for - in this case, a five star boutique experience that is unmatched in this part of Kyushu.
