Clean, quiet and very friendly host. We came from a wedding and it was quite late in the evening, yet Chandra warmly welcomed us in. Would recommend The Golden Residence. Great value for money and the beds were very comfortable too!

Had an amazing one-night stay.The room was clean,cozy and well furnished with a big TV.Washroom was spotless with good water pressure.Wi-Fi was fast and reliable.The meal provided was fresh and tasty.Staff were friendly and helpful.Quiet location,safe environment. It was one of the best stays in Sri Lanka. In the middle of the jungle. We really loved to stay with family. It was the most authentic staying that we had in Sri Lanka. the kids (2 years and 5 years), are still talking about their home in srilanka in the middle of the jungle, they loved to spend time with grandmom ( she taught them one song, and we must singing every day ) and their tuk tuk driver, which was the best driver at alll srilanka. we recommend to all families to spent time in jungle homestay.

I am beyond happy to have had the chance to visit this place. I spent three amazing days at your hotel with such a beautiful view of the elephants. Waking up in the morning to see them, hear their deep sounds, and watch them roam freely in the field was an unforgettable experience. It’s a wonderful opportunity to observe wildlife while enjoying the comfort of your hotel. The terrace is fantastic, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and everything is so cozy, clean, and beautifully designed. The hotel smells amazing, and it has everything you need for a perfect stay. My deepest gratitude goes to Roshan and his family for their incredible hospitality and for helping with the excursions. I am truly thankful for these wonderful three days. I was so happy to meet everyone involved in running this hotel and to get to know the culture of Penawawa. I’m already recommending this place to my friends, and many of them are eager to visit and experience the same emotions. I will definitely be back and would love to spend more time in this magical place!

What a lovely warm welcome. Dunisha not only runs a wonderfully positioned hotel (right beside a river with wild monkeys passing through each morning) but he cooks too! The food he made for us was personalised, creative and delicious. Very delicious! Our room was very comfortable and anything we wanted he was happy to provide. If we passed through the area again, we'd definitely stay there. Very affordable accommodation and cheap but exceptional dinner. Great value for money!

We booked this place on the day we stayed and what a gem of a find! The facilities were very comfortable. Very clean room and bathroom with a semi outdoor shower. My kids loved the shower heads! The breakfast cooked was beautiful. We had the traditional Sri Lankan breakfast of string hoppers and curries and it was devine. Then my children had fruit & French toast. The son or manager then showed us around their wonderful garden. My children absolutely adored it and were so excited to see monkeys on our way out.
