Wow! We chose this place because it was close to the Immigration office and to the place we were going to work, and because the pictures looked good. I usually take the pictures on Booking with a pinch of salt but at Villa 53 the pictures do not do justice to the beauty of the place! It is all you see and more. We were literally welcomed with open arms as though we were old friends and not complete strangers. Sriyantha and Champi welcomed us into their palatial home with smiles and hugs and a delicious glass of ice cold juice. The rooms are incredibly spacious, with big comfy beds with thick duvets and soft pillows. The bathroom is huge with a walk in shower and a bathtub. The pool in the backyard is big enough to swim laps if you're so inclined, perfect temperature. We sat outside in the evening and enjoyed the beautiful garden, the birdsong and the soft perfume from the flowers. In the morning the ladies made us a wonderful breakfast of omelets and fruit, the first day and a Sri Lankan breakfast the second day. Both were great. The immigration office is a 5 minute walk from the Villa. Very convenient. Sriyanta drove us to a great restaurant in the evening and came an picked us up when we were done! Service above and beyond. We were sorry to have to leave and will definitely want to stay here again when we come back to Colombo. We arrived as strangers (not for long) and departed as (almost) family.

Had a great stay at this place. Actually, the best place to stay while extending your visa:passport office is just 600 m away. It is a nice quite area close to Colombo center. Not on the noisy steer but still close to shops and other facilities. Hot water in the shower, good WiFi. The owner is super friendly and helpful, such a great guy. Highly recommended!

Value for money in the Colombo. It's Very close to the Colombo City and the location was good. It's Very close to Diyatha Uyana park, Port city, Immigration office & Colombo City. I recently stayed at a room I rented for a few nights in Maharagama, Sri Lanka. While the location was outside Colombo, I found it to be incredibly peaceful away from the city hustle. The room itself was clean, simple, and excellent value for the price. What really stood out, though, was the landlord. He was exceptionally friendly and helpful, addressing all my queries and offering great tips about the area. I appreciated his hospitality and would recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful stay near Colombo.

The location is beautiful - in a leafy suburb of Colombo where the pace is gentle. The gardens are delightful and made such a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The guesthouse itself is special - open pavilion-style lounge area with an indoor courtyard letting in natural light. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast was delicious. There's a choice of western or local breakfast, and if you feel adventurous, the hosts explain ingredients, how to prepare and eat the breakfast. It's honestly so delicious. The hosts are friendly, kind and knowledgeable. It was easy to communicate and to come and go as you need. Restaurants nearby are walking distance for lunch / dinner. It's easy for tuktuks or taxis to get you there and away as you need with attractions like Barefoot very nearby. If you're travelling alone, it's perfect - you feel safe and comfortable to spend time alone or engage with hosts and other guests as you like.

After 1 months in Sri Lanka, we can say. This was our favourite stay ever!!! Madu was like a Mother to us, we felt immediately at home and so welcomed. Room was very clean and everything was very nice and tidy. Not to forget the delicious breakfast and Madus son, who is also very nice and even drove us to the Airport.
