I recently stayed at The Colombo House and had a great experience. The place was clean, comfortable, and located conveniently. What truly made my stay memorable was the kind uncle who was working there. He was incredibly helpful, always ready to assist with anything I needed, and made me feel very welcome throughout my stay. Amazing Place. Super clean - the cleanest place we stayed in Sri Lanka!! Hot showers, cold AC, comfortable beds. There is a kitchen with all of the facilities, tea and coffee was provided and the living room had a tv which we had to ourselves as we were the only guests! Location is a lovely quiet area, listening to the birds in the morning with a cup of tea was like heaven 😍 We also enjoyed watching the fish as there are 2 tanks and a fish pond, and there are some of the cutest dogs with the owners upstairs. The staff were fantastic. Wish we found this place earlier and booked a longer stay, but we are flying home today. Highly recommend this Guesthouse

Great place in Colombo. I’ve stayed there two times during my travels in Sri Lanka. It’s a bit outside but with Tuk Tuk it’s not a big deal. The host and stuff were great! Can fully recommend.

Absolutely amazing experience! I recommend also taking a tour of the house before your stay, as there are many interesting things to see. The stay itself was wonderful, and the staff were very kind and friendly. In the evening, the atmosphere of the house is beautiful, and the sunrise is just as stunning. Unlike anything I’ve seen before. Rooms and common areas are artfully decorated with trinkets from around the world. My room was overlooking the lake and it felt like I was living in the jungle, surrounded by plants. Bed was super comfy and the rain shower was great. The pool and view over the lake were incredible. Staff were attentive and friendly. Food was delicious, we had plans to head out to Colombo but decided to stay and enjoy the property and had all our meals there. A personalised experience with great hosts, thanks for everything!

Wow! We chose this place because it was close to the Immigration office and to the place we were going to work, and because the pictures looked good. I usually take the pictures on Booking with a pinch of salt but at Villa 53 the pictures do not do justice to the beauty of the place! It is all you see and more. We were literally welcomed with open arms as though we were old friends and not complete strangers. Sriyantha and Champi welcomed us into their palatial home with smiles and hugs and a delicious glass of ice cold juice. The rooms are incredibly spacious, with big comfy beds with thick duvets and soft pillows. The bathroom is huge with a walk in shower and a bathtub. The pool in the backyard is big enough to swim laps if you're so inclined, perfect temperature. We sat outside in the evening and enjoyed the beautiful garden, the birdsong and the soft perfume from the flowers. In the morning the ladies made us a wonderful breakfast of omelets and fruit, the first day and a Sri Lankan breakfast the second day. Both were great. The immigration office is a 5 minute walk from the Villa. Very convenient. Sriyanta drove us to a great restaurant in the evening and came an picked us up when we were done! Service above and beyond. We were sorry to have to leave and will definitely want to stay here again when we come back to Colombo. We arrived as strangers (not for long) and departed as (almost) family.
