My room was bright, comfortable, air-conned with my own bathroom (not something I always find in guesthouses). Located directly in the middle of Tavira, everything needed is 1 minute away (just be aware of the 2 sets of stairs that greet you in a well lit little hallway). The terrace is a beautiful place to sit and watch the festival activities down below, with a great view of the city. The kitchen had water, and some drinks you could buy, but the microwave was fantastic to use. A doctor just below you, it seriously was one of the best places I've stayed. However. The staff members. 100000 sound. I was very sick at the start of my journey, and the staff took their time to take care of me, one even bringing me chicken soup to help me feel better, and called me a doctor. You would not get this treatment in a hotel. I was so grateful for them. Genuinely at the top of my list of kind staff, and I hope I'll see them again next year when I return. Thank you Formosa Guesthouse for such a hospitable stay.

This is hotel fare exceeded our expectations . The location is superb , right by the Ferry to the island . The bedroom whilst not huge was a good size , with a kettle, fridge , it was spotlessly clean and the towels were bath sheets ( very rare) . The breakfast was more than plentiful, fresh fruit , cereal, yoghurts , pastries and a hot selection of scrambled egg and bacon . I am really not sure what people are expecting for the price you pay . The staff were polite and helpful, a special mention for Pedro who advised us on where to go , restaurants etc

The host was very responsive to messages and kindly left us a lovely welcome pack of wine, beer, & chocolates. The spacious room & bathroom were exceptionally clean. The bed & pillows were very comfortable. The self check-in was straightforward. It was located a few minutes' walk from the center.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, secure parking for motorbikes and easy to find. Really friendly staff and great breakfast. Lovely serene pool area with comfortable sunbeds. Our terrace had a hammock which was great, just wish we were there for longer, would definitely stay again.
