What a great choice this was. Being on an island it is far from the noise and smells of Aswan and the pace of life is so much slower. It's only a short ferry ride from Aswan itself but you are transported back to a better place to be, especially if you want to have a peaceful and relaxing stay.
All the staff at the guest house were great and went out of their way to help. They organised my ferry trips and car to Luxor. Breakfast is made fresh everyday and the homemade jam and bread were the highlight each morning.
After which I had a very good hot shower before beginning my day.
I hope to return to Egypt later in the year and I'll be back through Aswan and I'll definitely come back to the Mango Guest House.

The owner, JJ, and his team were very friendly and hospitable. The room was clean and comfortable and they organized a trip to Abu Simbel for me. When I got sick, they postponed the trip by a day, so I had time to get back in shape. JJ's wife also served me the strongest ginger tea I have ever had, to get me back up. Days later, while I was staying at another place, I walked past the hotel again and JJ spontaneously invited me to a dinner they were throwing for a group of guests. Thanks a lot!

The location is simply wonderful. On the West side of Elephantine Island, overlooking the Nile at one of its most beautiful spots, this place is just perfect for those who want to relax and enjoy the calm and beauty of the river. A real haven of tranquillity!
The owner is very welcoming and kind. So are his sister in law -who prepares delicious breakfast and lovely meals at lunch or dinner, if you choose to eat there- and his nephew who can take you on very nice boat rides to explore the Nile and its shores.
It is also very easy to reach the center of Aswan from here, just a short and very pleasant walk to the ferry dock to get to the other side of the river.
We initially had planned to stay only one night in Aswan, but as soon as we got there we were captured by the beauty and quietness of this place and decided to make our stay longer.
Really hope to stay here again some day in the future!

We were Tamer's guests in a Nubian village, the rooms were very good for Egyptian standards! Being hosted by Tamer was the best thing that could have happened to us, if you want to meet real and honest Egyptians come to Nubia Hearts. Tamer is very helpful and hospitable, serves delicious breakfasts, everything on time. We were guests at Nubia Hearts as the second couple from Poland. An ideal base for further travels, a very safe area without scammers. Perfect access, which is not standard in Egypt.

Arranged pickup for us from the airport at a late hour and helped us get on a boat to the island without any problems
Easy access to major sites, had great contacts for drivers and boat tours at reasonable prices.
Next to a family owned restaurant called King Jamaica, which offered great Nile sunset views and had a very interesting mixed clientele both locals and tourists
Great hostel! The room is clean, the kitchen and bathroom are also clean. It was quiet. The yard is cozy and there are cute cats. The transfer was comfortable. Excellent hosts who will prompt and help with any questions. Thanks!

I’m convinced this is the best place to stay in Aswan. It might be a little bit hard to find in the island, but there were locals who kindly showed me the way upon my arrival. There’s a beautiful garden, the staff is friendly and the room is very nice. The breakfast they serve is superb and you can also buy water and soda’s for a good price instead of having to go to a shop.
Extra points for having the goodest dog in Aswan.

Haares was a brilliant host, he was there to help with planning of sites to see and also gave us handy tips and tricks when dealing with locals. He was available at all times as well. In addition, the helper at the property was an amazing person, always on hand to help with the on site facilities

My stay couldn't have been better. The host family are all super sweet and will make you feel instantly at home. Location is perfect, right next to the ferry. They also offer meals, I highly recommend eating their Tahini one of the best I ever tried. It's quiet in the early morning too, some of the best sleeps I've had in Egypt. Highly recommend staying here on Elephantine Island
