I like that the hotel was in a quiet side alley so it's more private and quiet. It's a 4min walk the public ferry boat that crosses the Nile over to the East Bank. Where the East Bank is very noisy and busy with lots of hustlers, the West Bank is more peaceful and laid back. The hotel just opened last November and everything was brand new. The design - both interior and exterior was very nice, had a Moroccan theme. Laurice the owner and general manager was lovely. She was able to answer all my questions about the area, very helpful and friendly. The Egyptian breakfast was also great, it was a giant tray with a plate of ful, fried scrabled egg, a basket of aish baladi, eish fino and a flaky paratha, strawberry jam, laughing cow cheese, honey, yogurt, olives, white dip, bowl of mixed fruit, orange juice and coffee/tea - it's basically brunch lol. I stayed in the Nagham room which was on the rooftop. Although it was a bit of a hike to drag my luggage all the way up (no elevator lol), it was well worth it because I had the whole rooftop area to myself! The room's private balcony has views of the nile whereas the balconies of the other rooms just face inward into the courtyard of the building. There was also a public balcony up there as well. It's a beautiful property overall, I highly recommend!

Ali and Karima were excellent hosts. They created a personalised itinerary for us to see all the big hits in Luxor. Ali went out of his way to plan our travel to Aswan as well organising airport transportation. The prices were also very fair. The food for breakfast and dinner were amazing and all the produce was organically sourced. We will definitely miss our breakfasts with a view and our hosts the most! Thank you again for your warm hospitality and we recommend this place to anyone travelling in Luxor.

My stay was fantastic, the staff were great, they all worked as a team and created a positive environment. The guest house is only a short walk away from the Nile, near restaurants and shops. I booked all the activities through the guest house, the attention was incredible and all the tours were tailored to my needs. I would recommend it 100 % and I will definitely go back when I visit Luxor again.

If you are a traveler with any sense of adventure and desire for a local experience, Scorpion House is for you. Easily, the highlight of our entire trip. Beautiful rooftop views of the valley and the best food in Egypt. Mr. Tayeb has had quite a life and I highly recommend spending some time chatting with him. He is a gracious host and a phenomenal chef. I would return to Luxor just to stay at Scorpion House. Do not miss a once in a lifetime opportunity to enjoy some Egyptian hospitality. Tayeb also employs a wonderful driver named Ahmed. When our tour with Travel2Egypt (trash) cancelled our Luxor tour at the last minute, Mr. Tayeb arranged a trip with Ahmed for the day who was phenomenal and showed us some extra sites we didn’t even know about for an insanely good deal. Will recommend to everyone. We lost our wallet by the pool and Mr. Tayeb’s friend found it and returned it. Just some of the best energy. Tayeb has friendly cats and dogs around in the house, which made it feel like home.

We can hardly believe that we were lucky enough to come across this hotel by chance. The Nile compound is a paradisiacal hotel far away from the tourist hustle of the city center and I recommend it to everyone for a stay in Luxor - you won't find anything better. It's like a little oasis of peace where you feel at home and yet you can reach the center very quickly by cab or tuktuk. We received a very warm welcome here and immediately decided to stay an extra night, because you don't often find such a beautiful place. Our bungalow was right on the Nile and we had a wonderful view. We were also able to order first-class local food and drinks or shisha at very fair prices. All the staff were extremely pleasant and friendly and always on hand to help when we needed advice (for example, we had a problem with an outside cab driver who charged more than we had agreed and they were on hand immediately to sort the situation out for us). The owner Mahmoud made sure we were provided with everything around the clock and we have rarely felt so comfortable - we will definitely be back to stay longer!

Wir bliben 4 Tage, da es den Kindern so gut gefallen hat. Wir hatten viel platz und unseren eigenen privaten Pool im Haus. Die Lage ist top! Der Nil ist direkt vor der Haustüre so wie jegliche restaurant und supermärkte. Die Besitzerin Fathima hat uns Herzlich in Empfang genommen und ist auf all unsere Wünsche eingegangen. Danke für eure Gastfreundschaft, wir würden immer wieder kommen.
