The cabin was an absolute dream—nestled deep in the peaceful Finnish forest, far away from everything, yet still only 40 minutes from Rovaniemi. The whole place is designed to be in perfect harmony with nature: the cabins are built with sustainable materials, decorated with impeccable taste, and fully equipped while maintaining that cozy, minimalistic charm. We were surrounded by pure silence, snow-covered trees, and magical light. It felt like we had the whole forest to ourselves. Everything was incredibly clean, well-maintained, and filled with small thoughtful details that made us feel at home. The perfect place to disconnect, reconnect with nature, and just breathe.

This form of hostel -Matkustajakoti is an older form of accommodation and very exciting. Read about it on Finnish Wikipedia and translate the page! Staying at this hostel was an experience in itself. My room had a cozy painting of a forest and the bathroom kitschy green and yellow tiles. The man who runs it was kind and humble. I felt like in a film. The facade and “Outa” sign is beautiful brutalist. This is a stay for people who appreciate a cinematic atmosphere. Recommend it 10/10 and will think back on this as my main memory from Rovaniemi

We had an exceptional stay at Saris (and her sons) place. She is renting out two rooms in her really big and cozy apartment. Both, the apartment and room are super clean. Sari provides room towels, bath ropes and a hair dryer. Breakfast is included, which means in this case that you have access to a fridge with multiple options for a simple but good breakfast, including vegetables and fruits. You can also make some coffee or tea. The kitchen is very well equipped and you're able to use it freely and cook something for dinner yourself. Sari is really kind, patient, always eager to assist and answers all your questions. Additionally she provides great inside tips on tours and places in Rovaniemi. Her welcoming atmosphere lets you truly feel at home. Even though the apartment is not in the middle of the city center you can walk there easily or use the buses which leave at a 3 minute walking distance from the house. We can most definitely recommend staying with Sari and are looking forward to staying at her place again when we come back!

If you arrive early enough you can use the sauna, kitchen is huge. The only thing that could be unpleasant is that you can't access the toilet directly from your room. Anyway the family is super nice and for me was not a problem at all.
