Our accommodation here was like a fairy tale and I must admit that it was the most beautiful thing I experienced in France this stay. We arrived at a beautiful place, a farm, with animals, cows and dogs all around. We were greeted by a young and very nice owner who runs the farm with her mother and brother. She immediately offered us a three course dinner for a small extra charge, an aperitif and wine of our choice, all prepared by her, she cooked it was a lovely home made treat. We chatted into the night, I felt like I was in a loving family in a fairy tale. The room was like a castle, clean, everything we needed was there, the bathroom was also great, there were even some toiletries, a clean and ironed towel, plenty of warm water to shower and relax. The bed was nice and I had the best sleep I've had in a long time. Breakfast in the morning was excellent with local food - cheese, marmalade, fresh croissants, coffee, homemade dessert... If I could, I would spend another night or maybe a week or a year in that place. I didn't even want to leave. So I highly recommend it.

We stayed 4 nights in a 2-storey townhouse facing the pool and the chateau environment was spectacular. We did day trips each day to nearby places of interest -- Vezelay with its beautiful church at the top of the hill, Fontenay Abbey, Avallon, and the picturesque city of Auxerre only a 15 minute drive away. Breakfasts were fine; bed was comfy; free parking on site.
