Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). Highlight of my trip, I wish we stayed 2 nights not just one. Great hospitality and wonderful facilities. Personally the futon was very comfortable since I prefer harder matress. A 15 minute walk from the ferry terminal, very close to the main attractions.

It's a guest house with only 3 rooms, so it's quiet and private. Had very welcoming staff interactions and this is a great place to stay and explore the local islands from.

The landlord is extremely kind. When I moved in, he gave me a detailed introduction on how to use the room. There's a clean kitchen, a living room with a TV, and a huge bedroom—it's fantastic! The landlord even lent me a bicycle, allowing me to explore the Yokai City in Sakaiminato freely! What's more amazing is that the landlord is actually from New Zealand! When he learned my name is Kiwi, he looked astonished. When I showed him my kiwi bird profile picture, we high-fived excitedly! What a wonderful coincidence! He kept showing me the New Zealand elements in the house, and there were really many!

This was a beautiful room, very attractive design, spacious and in a perfect area for touring Kurashiki. It is exactly as pictured. The beds were comfortable and everything was immaculate. Check in was easy. Good communication with hosts, and restaurant recommendations, which was helpful. It’s not a hotel per se, and so no meals included but they provided a basket of fruit and baked goods daily and coffee, so that was perfect for breakfast. It was all we needed. The seating area has a good view over the canal so you could not be better situated.

This was the best choice we made in all our trip to Japan. The hosts were super nice, and major Conan fans, so we really enjoyed our stay here. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip! Stayed as a pitstop while doing the Shimanami Kaido. Modernised traditional Japanese house. Staff was extremely welcoming and even wrote our name in Kanji. The house itself is clean, and there's even a free washing machine and dryer for use. For what we paid, we got great value and would definitely stay here again if doing the Shimanami Kaido or even just to visit the island.

We stayed here half way on the Shimanami Kaido. The host drove us to a absolutely beautiful onsen / bath house nearby, perfect after a days biking. She then made a reservation and dropped us off at a restaurant, one of the best meals we had in our trip. The accomodation is super spacious, clean and homely! A lovely breakfast was prepared before starting our second day. I could not recommend enough, we would definitely stay again if we come back.
