The property features mountain and garden views, and is 7.9 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station. The guest house provides rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. By far our favorite stay in Japan. The Asante inn exceeded all our expectations. We were traveling with my family (with a 6yo) and my dad and his partner. We chose this hotel specifically because of the access to the private onsen (we have tattoos) and the location in Hakone. They were clean and beautiful. You have a slot available by grouping. They also had a massaging chair that removed all the knot from traveling in my back! Overall it was a very relaxing experience and an amazing stay. The common area is right in front of the most beautiful curated Japanese garden. We stayed there for hours, eating delicious food, playing cards and relaxing. The staff has been very kind and helpful, made us feel welcome, even with a little one. There is no restaurants around really but their kitchen is providing a lot of choice of food until 8pm or so. The big room was filled with 4 futons and tatamis and the very small bathroom was clean. They were Alsop shared bathroom available outside. We had a little private garden in our room, tv, tea, yukata and towels available.

The guesthouse is also super conveniently located diagonally from the station, but there is no noise. A super nice experience !

Ken-ken was a wonderful host. I only stayed for one night to be close to Nokogiri Mt. for hiking, but Ken-ken was extremely helpful and generous while I was there. One of my favorite memories from my two week trip to Japan will be my stay in this little town of Hota, much thanks to Ken-ken's hospitality and guidance for places to visit and eat at while I stayed. He recommended the cutest izakaya when I told him I was looking for dinner and a few beers called Rest Inn Wassup! The owner and cook there were so nice, and we had a good time visiting even though we were mostly speaking through Google Translate. Please don't be afraid to visit this little town if you want to see some authentic Japanese small-town life and great hiking. I was able to get around fairly easily, but be aware the public transportation is limited and it can get dark in the neighborhood at night. Rest assured, though, if you stay with Ken-ken, he will make your stay comfortable and worthwhile!

Fantastic place to explore Nikko. Mark and his Wife were great hosts. Nice breakfast and a beautiful room.
The food was really good and the meals were large, so worth the price. The room was beautiful and clean, and staff were kind and helpful. The bath locations and temperature had variation, to meet all kinds of needs. Location itself was beautiful as well and the locals were friendly, definitely recommend walking around. There is a small town, dam, and a beautiful lake upstream of the river as well as a couple small shrines along the way.
This is a lovely hostel, one of the cleanest I’ve ever stayed at. They have the bunk beds that are more like booths so you have total privacy. Lovely onsen on site as well. Bonus points for the most attractive man I’ve ever seen in my life working there!
Great garden suite room with plenty of space for family of four. Bar on 33rd floor has great views of Tokyo Tower but very expensive
Great location, very convenient to different attractions. Great facilities, have everything we need and very comfortable to stay. Great host, always quick response and provide good support for our stay. We would like to stay again if we go to Tokyo next time.
The onsen is small but great! Indoor bath (uchiburo), gender-separated. The water has a slight sulphur-smell, but not overwhelming. It is milky-white and prickles your skin slightly afterwards. The locals use the onsen as well. The japanese-style room are authentic and huge (by japanese standard).
Great hostel/hotel! Lovely staff and the free happy hour was a great addition.
We loved the pool and ping pong tables. Great location close to the train station and cable car. Easy to do laundry and helpful staff. Nice rooftop terrace. We can recommend taking the stairs down to Miyagino and the superb Tokyo sushi. We also loved the beautiful onsen Yuryo a few stops away with the train. Lots of locals and you can combine your bath with a nice dinner.
Great experience. Like a home stay, lovely hosts. Very quiet neighborhood. Slept well.
