From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly and helpful owner and his amazing family, who ensured a warm welcome and served for us delicious lunch (the dining experience was truly a delight). One of the highlights of this homestay is its’ beautiful view from the terrace: you can sea the Lovers Leap waterfall and tea plantations (walking distance). The room is spacious and cosy, even with the patchwork rug on the floor. There’s also a nice common living room. Overall, our stay at S and D Homestay was exceptional. The combination of the hospitable family, delightful meals, beautiful view and the refreshing cool air made it a remarkable experience.

We really enjoyed our stay. Chaminda is an excellent host. He is very knowledgeable about the area and gave us lots of accurate, up to date information about the area and things to do (much more up to date information than we were able to find online). The rooms are spacious, clean and tidy. The bedding is nice, warm and cosy – perfect for the slightly cooler weather in Nuwara Eliya. The shower had good hot water. The breakfast was nice and always on time each morning. We’d happily stay again.

Castlereigh Reservoir Seaplane Base Airport is 46 km away. Beautiful place! Amazing location, super clean, great facilities. Host was waiting for us in the rain at 10 PM, super easy to reach on WhatsApp, amazing breakfast in the morning. Upgraded our stay to a nicer room for no extra charge because it was empty! It was our best stay in Sri Lanka. Connected us with a Tuktuk driver (Chandi) for the morning who gave us a tour around which was perfect - went to two tea plantations, two waterfalls, and so many view points. He also called a friend at the train station to verify our train time and ordered take out for us to pick up and take on the train.

The guest house features family rooms. We liked the most was Raj. He is the guy who manage the place and he is an absolute pleasure. His professionalism and friendliness really helped us enjoy the trip. It was such a nice place. He made tea for us, got us food and did everything we asked without any complaints. We would go there again, just for him.

We had to leave very early the next morning, and he prepared an amazing picnic box for us to take on the road. Always with a smile, he answered all our questions and made us feel completely at home. If we ever return to Nuwara Eliya, we will definitely contact him again. Highly recommended!
