The host is very generous and helpful, probably the best host I’ve ever met. He basically helped us with everything, the booking of kayaking in the lake, the turtle watching, he took us to the beach and shared lots of useful information. He even waited at the beach to ride my kids back by his motorcycle when it was almost 10 pm. As we were swimming, he arranged our dinner by the pool. The breakfast was also hearty and delicious. As for the villa, it is clean, spacious, nicely decorated. Every room has a clothes drying rack, which is very thoughtful. My favorite is the swimming pool, very clean and modern, there is also a kids pool too!

At the homestay, the units have bed linen and towels. So so clean and modern , so spacious and the little kitchenette, perfect for us as we only stayed on day but long term stays would suit that accommodation too. Very nice family and good breakfast

The entire family that run this place are about the nicest people you will ever meet. They did above and beyond to help me out, notably finding and then physically hailing mystery bus #10 direct to Elle which saved me 7 hours travel time. Facilities were clean, comfortable and relaxing even though, because I was too cheap to pay for air conditioning, a little hot in the early evenings. I suggest you choose more wisely. They have free bikes, which I was unable to take advantage of but others raved about and the on site food was very good. Bring guitar pics, music, and a few licks for their talented son.

Boasting an outdoor swimming pool and views of garden, The lookout lodge is a recently renovated guest house set in Tangalle, 600 metres from Tangalle Beach. There is an in-house restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. You feel you are close to nature. Lodge feels new and fresh. Bathroom is nice, a European standard, so not common. But most of all owner and manager give each tourist attention and are open to help. We had a great dinner at the lodge, so it’s worth trying, owner is a man of many talents. Last but not least pool is well maintained and water felt great like silk. Beach is close by, waves were crashing hard but if you swim further it’s calm.

I can't say enough great things about this homestay! They arranged our transfer from Ella and arranged a morning and afternoon safari for us. We were greeted with a delicious cold coconut water, in the coconut. We chose the breakfast and dinner option which makes so much sense because the town is a bit of a walk and after a safari all day (4:30 am to 6:30 pm) it is great to have dinner at the homestay. Both dinners we had were excellent, I think the best food we've had in Sri Lanka! They also pack a breakfast to go on your safari day because of leaving so early. When you wake up they have coffee and bananas for you before leaving. Our room was a great size, ac and hot water worked well. The owners are very kind, friendly and even drove us to the bus stop, stayed with us and made sure we got on the right bus. I highly recommend Tissa Rainbow for your stay while exploring Yala National Park, you won't regret it!

By far the best homestay we have stayed in for the past 2 weeks traveling in Sri Lanka. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable, AC rooms and the hospitality of Priya makes it the best! He helped us arrange the safari in Yala, took us bird and crocodile watching in the evening 😊 and picked us up and dropped us at the bus station. Can’t wait to be back, thanks Priya!
