We spent two nights at Iguana Azul and were very happy with our stay. The riad is perfectly located—right in the medina, yet tucked away on a quiet and beautiful street just off the main road. Upon arrival, the receptionist, Walid, kindly offered us a choice between two rooms. The rooms were spotless, clearly newly renovated, with a comfortable bed and plenty of space. The rooftop terrace was a lovely place to relax, and the breakfast was generous and delicious. Amal at the reception was incredibly helpful in finding us the best way to travel from Chefchaouen to Rabat (note: when we were there, only one bus per day ran at 7 AM, but an alternative is taking a grand taxi to Tangier and then the TGV, which took us just 3.5 hours). We would have happily stayed longer—this is a truly comfortable, laid-back place, perfect for enjoying a coffee on the terrace with stunning views of the city. The location is perfect, close to the main street and some great spots for taking photos. The air conditioning worked well, which was a big plus. Breakfast on the terrace was a nice touch—tasty and relaxing. Highly recommend!

The staff were warm and attentive, and what made it extra special was that the owner himself personally picked us up and dropped us off — a rare and thoughtful touch. The food? Exquisite. Even a simple dinner felt romantic thanks to the ambiance they created, with soft music and a peaceful setting that made the evening feel magical. As someone who loves nature and hiking, I truly appreciated the location — yes, it’s up in the mountains, but that’s what makes it so special. If you’re a nature lover looking for serenity, this is the perfect escape.

Und würde jederzeit wieder kommen. Sehr leicht zu finden. Über die Straße gehen und Zack ist man in der Medina. Sauber und bequeme Betten. Super netter Gastgeber. Leckeres und ausreichendes Frühstück. ( Eier, Brot, Marmelade, frisch gepresster Orangensaft … ) Toller Ausblick aus dem Zimmer gibt es in top dazu.
