Die Unterkunft Paihia on the Rise verfügt über Bergblick und eine Veranda / Patio, ungefähr 3,3 km von Paihia Harbour entfernt. Es war ein toller Aufenthalt von der Ankunft bis zur Abreise. Dave und Suz sind ganz liebe Menschen, die einem bei allen Angelegenheiten super unterstützen. Die kleine Wohnung ist super. Es gibt ein Schlafzimmer, ein kleines Wohnzimmer mit Entertainment TV, ein Badezimmer und sogar eine kleine Küche. Alles ist sauber und gepflegt. Ich habe mich wie zu Hause gefühlt. Dave und Suz sind Fischer und haben mir einen frischen Fisch geschenkt, den ich in einem kleinen Laden in der Stadt zu Fisch and Chips hab frittieren lassen. Es war super lecker. Vielen dank für die tolle Zeit!

Chris and Val are fantastic, friendly folk and fabulous hosts. Chris is the hostess with the mostess. The rooms, property, and setting are amazing. I admit to letting out a gasp as we arrived and drove down the driveway. The carpet in our room was lush, the bed was super comfy (loved the daisy cushions), everything was clean and spotless, and the shower was probably the best I've ever used in all of my travels. We had a private deck area with comfortable outdoor chairs, a decent sized wooden table, and a large sun umbrella - that was actually easy to simply wind up and down! We looked out onto the manicured lawn, rich foliage, and native trees. It was so lovely to see fantails and hear the chorus of cicadas. The extra touches of biscuits, chocolates - fresh milk in glass bottles in the fridge (to go along with tea, coffee etc) - beach/swimming towels (there's a local swimming hole with a small waterfall nearby), and range of toiletries, added that extra touch of class. The air con, wifi, and TV worked. The changing/wardrobe area was handy, private, and useful - even if we didn't use the lovely robes provided. There's plenty of room to hang and store clothing, and your own safe for valuables (I don't have any!). Parking and getting in and out of the property were a breeze. Chris was happy to help with anything but was never intrusive. She recommended a local place or two for dining, and they were fantastic. We were happy to simply get some fresh towels and milk halfway through our stay, with no pressure or rush to work around inconvenient, compulsory daily service of our room (nor departure as early as possible before 10 am). Everything was classy enough to feel great and make you feel special and comfy enough to be peaceful and relaxing. We loved it so much that we extended our stay. If you stay anywhere else up that way, you're mad. I'm going back ASAP, and I didn't want to leave in the first place.

Das Frühstück wurde am Vortag bereitgestellt (frisches Obst, Joghurt, selbstgemachte Marmeladen, Brot, Milch, Saft usw.), so dass man sich morgens nur noch den Kaffee kochen musste und dann mit perfektem Blick auf die Bucht das Frühstück genießen konnte. Die Lage dicht an der Fähre und nah zu allen Läden und Lokalen des Ortes war perfekt. Und das Haus liegt in erster Reihe am Strand. Vom Zimmer aus (bzw. dem großzügigen Balkon) hat man immer das Wasser in Sicht.
