It's a small hotel in the historic center walking distance to a lot of the places you would like to see in Funchal. The room and facilities are simple, modern, comfortable, and clean, The staff are polite, friendly and very helpful. The breakfast (included in the room price) is basic but sufficient for my needs, with a variety of breads, cereal, cold cuts cheese, hardboiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, coffee/tea etc. The AC in the room worked well. I would happily stay here again if I returned to Funchal.

Classy guesthouse located in a in a beautiful rich garden full of exotic colorfull plants. We enjoyed lazy moments in the garden using garden furniture. Sadly it was too cold for us to use the pool. The hotel is only few minutes away from the coast with a promenade and some good seafood restaurants. it was a lovely touch to find a tray with local goodies in the room upon arrival. We also enjoyed the lounge with fireplace and comfy sofas. We would definatelly come back!

Both free WiFi and parking on-site are accessible at the guest house free of charge. The guest house has a sun terrace and a hot tub. The best accommodation in Madeira, even with a whirlpool. Hourly recommend this place, there is literally everything you need to cook, to rest and with a great location. Spectacular.

Set in Machico, S A L - Beach Apartments Caniçal is a recently renovated accommodation, 22 km from Santana's Traditional Houses and 30 km from Marina do Funchal. The property has mountain and garden views, and is 500 metres from Beach Pedradeira. The guest house features family rooms. Great place. New. Balcony in Room 5 was nice to sit and have a beer from the local supermarket (the coffee/pastry shop and small supermarket right past the church are great - staff speak either great English or pretty good English). We overlooked the water- nice. I posted a pic from the balcony. There was also a skylight over the bed if you like stars. Housekeeping was wonderful, and we asked Pedro (very very responsive) for extra towels on Saturday because they're off on Sunday. No problem. Fridge is nice, coffee/pods provided in room were also great, but it was nice to wander down to one of the shops after a day of hiking/sightseeing and sit and have a cup outside. Also- nice places to eat all around, O Recante was fabulous (oh, I'll remember that dessert for a long time) and we had a super nice inexpensive dinner at Muralha's Bar. I can't find any fault with the place other than what I'm sure will be a brief one as they're apparently enlarging the parking area (if they haven't finished already!).

Horizon Retreat in Calheta provides adults-only accommodation with an infinity pool and a garden. Private parking is available on site at this recently renovated property. The homestay provides a fitness room and a shared kitchen. The care and attention Alan, the host has put in this place is amazing. You gotta love it.

Girao Cape is 12 km away and Santana's Traditional Houses is 43 km from the guest house. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The host was super friendly and was very welcoming with a late checkin.

The property features a garden, barbecue facilities and parking on-site among other facilities. With city views, this accommodation features a patio. Guests can make use of the sun terrace or the picnic area, or enjoy views of the sea and mountain. Very nice lady - owner who was helpfull and hospitable. Very clean and beautiful House, great view! I recommend this House!

Situated just 1.8 km from Lugar de Baixo Beach, Panoramic House provides accommodation in Quinta do Almeida with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen. This property offers access to a pool table and darts. The guest house features mountain views, a sun terrace and a 24-hour front desk. We loved this place so much! The room was cozy, everything was new. The communal areas were inviting, the kitchen had everything and the views from the newly built terrace were amazing! We felt super comfortable and right at home. Aurelia was easy to talk to and very helpful. Highly recommended!

Felt very safe as a solo female traveler. The owner was very friendly and helpful. 10/10.

This part of Madeira is much more greener than anywhere else. The host is very helpful and friendly!! Helped us to rent a car for a good price and offered us pick up/drop off from airport with reasonable price.
