The room was clean and quiet, and there are many restaurants and souvenir shops nearby. The guesthouse is newly renovated within an old building. At the homestay, each unit includes bed linen and towels. The hotel is clean and is located a walking distance to the old street. It is also located high up so that you can get a view of the area when the weather is clear, and the area around the hotel is quiet. We came late in the evening. The housekeeper/owner asked us if we have eaten dinner. When we said no, he kindly gave us free cup noodles since most of the restaurants were already closed. There were complimentary snacks and tea on the common area by the reception. We were unfortunate with the weather, as it was raining the whole day after we arrived. It was good that they have umbrellas that guests can borrow from the hotel. The umbrellas are very practical to have when the rain is light or moderate, but not when it is heavy and windy. When we got back to the hotel, our clothes and shoes were soaking wet. It was good that we had a shoe dryer in the room, as well as dehumidifier. The owner/housekeeper can only talk Chinese, but we had good communication with the help of Google Translate. The hotel is located near a charming cafe that looks like a greenhouse from inside. The hotel has a partnership with the cafe, so we got 10% off our orders. The cafe serves good breakfast and tea.

This recently renovated homestay is located 34 km from Wufenpu Garment Wholesale Area and 36 km from Taipei 101. The property offers soundproof units and is set 36 km from Taipei Arena. The ocean views directly from the windows were beautiful. The morning breakfast was simple and light, but since there was so much food in the area to choose from a light breakfast is what you want. The Old Street like a minute walk from the property. So all of the attractions of Jiufen are super close by. Their lobby doubles as a dining area where one night we brought back all of our street food to eat together. I loved this cute hotel and will likely stay in the future when I visit Jiufen.

We loved this place and everything about it. The host is lovely—she gave us many recommendations, ensured we knew what trains to take for our outings, gave us small gifts and goodies, offered to help us get laundry washed, and provided flexibility with check in and check out. All this she did with patience and a smile, even though we could not speak Mandarin and had to rely on translation apps. The location is excellent—walking distance to several buses and trains to nearby Jiufen, Shifen Waterfall, Bitoujiao, Keelung, and other great spots. The room itself is quiet, comfortable, and spacious with great lighting. It seems very clean and modern, with nothing out of date and everything functioning perfectly. It is well-appointed and nicely laid out. Guests have access to water, a refrigerator, a tea kettle, coffee, and fast/consistent WiFi. The toiletries and soaps were luxury, and we took note of the shower gel in particular so we can buy it to take home. This place is exceptional value, easy to book and find, and offered us complete privacy and autonomy. The host provided great communication from our initial booking until we said goodbye. Overall we give this hotel our highest recommendation—it was our favorite hotel of the 4 we stayed in on our visit throughout the island. The next time we come to the Taipei area, we will stay here.

Staff, breakfast, view, clean well equipped room. This was the place we felt most ‘looked after’ in our seven weeks in Taiwan. Hosts very engaged in making sure that everything was going well and making great suggestions for things to see and places to eat.
