Young man from the family-owned hostel helped us navigate the narrow streets. Wonderful views of the old city and castle from our bedroom, and even better panoramic views from the terrace and roof. Great breakfast and helpful owner who spoke English.

This was one of my favourite stays in Albania. The couple who run it are absolutely delightful, and go out of their way to help you and make your stay comfortable. As long as you have Google Translate, it's easy to communicate. Breakfast is IMMENSE! It's delicious, and so much! The beds were comfy and everything was really clean. It's about a 15 min walk to the main plaza, and the hill isn't that bad.

The place was great! The owner and his family are doing a great job with their business. They made me feel like being at my own home! I am also working as a digital nomad and the owner made sure to create my own spot, where I can work in peace. Generally, these guys make everything possible to make you feel welcome and I home. Perfect small hostel! Around 30 beds, so it’s easy to meet people and form a fun group — not like those massive 300-bed hostels around Europe. Everything is clean and new; the showers and kitchen are awesome, and the bed gave me the best sleep I’ve had in months. Even though it says 18 beds in the room, you barely notice it! And you have breakfast for free. Location is on nice street and 1 block to the beach.

Perfect location. Only a couple minutes walking distance to the castle and old city. Room was very clean. Wifi worked well. Bed was comfortable. Host was lovely and gave me some suggestions for in the city. Nice added touch to give free bottled water after my walk from the bus station.

This is a very well thought and lovely hostel. The interior is beautiful with so much attention to detail. The long breakfast table is a nice touch to get people together and the breakfast was very nice with different home made cake every morning! The facilities were surprisingly clean considering this is a hostel. Location is perfect! Cherry on top of the cake was the city tour by the owner of the hostel. If it's on while you are there, (he doesn't do it every day) don't miss it!!! This is not a typical city tour; but it was one of the most interesting and engaging city tours I ever had. I would definitely recommend this place for your stay in Girocaster.

The owner is the nicest guy ever. He picked me up with his car from the other side of the city when there was a thunderstorm, he made me tea and told me about all the things I needed to see in Gjirokastra. He let me use his washing machine too. Overall an inexpensive but great experience. Just be aware that it's up the hill.
