Superb location. Few minutes walking distance to the Nanjing Road East St. and 10-15 min walk to either The Bund or People Square. Very friendly staff, very accommodating, and eager to help. Space is tight but manageable for a few days if you book the two bunk-bed room with private bathroom and windows. The room had clever storage solutions and plenty of sockets to plug in your devices. I loved my stay at the hostel. Would highly recommend it if you are on a budget and don't require a lot of amenities from a proper hotel. Great value for money!!

I had an amazing stay at Desti Youth Hostel Jing’an Temple in Shanghai. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Jing’an, close to the metro, great cafés, and all the energy of the city. The rooms and common areas are clean, modern, and comfortable, making it an ideal place whether you’re traveling solo or with friends. What truly sets this hostel apart is the staff. Fafa, Lailai, Vicky, Galvin, and Curtis were absolutely exceptional. Each of them went above and beyond to make my stay smooth and enjoyable. From giving local recommendations to helping with logistics, they were always friendly, patient, and genuinely welcoming. Their hospitality made the place feel like home. If you’re coming to Shanghai and want a cozy, well-located, and wonderfully run hostel, this is the one. I’ll definitely stay here again.

I stayed at a Dengba hostel near Guilin Park Metro Station in Shanghai, and the location was really convenient. It’s about a 7–8 minute walk from the station, which is on Lines 9, 12, and 15, so getting to Xujiahui, People’s Square, and other places was smooth. There are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, so I didn’t have to go far for meals or supplies. The staff were professional and friendly. I arrived a bit early, and they helped me store my luggage and patiently answered my questions about transportation and the area. Check-in and check-out were quick, and they responded promptly when I needed help. The room was clean and tidy; overall, it was a hassle-free stay with good value.

Dayin offers beds or private rooms. I liked my room because there was a window to let in fresh air, the shower cubicle is separate from the toilet and, best of all, the sink is outside of the shower & toilet, making it far more hygienic to fill a kettle. The staff were superb in giving directions in English, especially since I needed to attend Shanghai Hospital every day. The hostel is located near three metro stations!!
