Location was perfect for the snow, the snow monkeys and it was a beautiful community. The restaurant recommendations from the zen hostel were perfect and we finished every dinner with local pudding.

Great onsen (better than the nine public onsens), fantastic facility (big room, heated table, balcony,...). We were very happy there.

The staff were exceptionally friendly, the atmosphere was awesome and it was very close to the bus station and zenkoji temple. The staff also gave us good recommendations for day trips. The other travelers we met were also good fun and we went on trips with a few of them.

It's a small, very cozy guesthouse in the suburbs from Nagano. Our host was lovely and even drove us to the nearest onsen. We also had our best hiking trips with amazing views of the snowy mountains, just in front of the guesthouse. The beds are really comfortable and we had the best sleep. The homestay has everything needed besides toiletries also a fully equipped kitchen. In the small town you find everything you need, a familymart, small restaurants, post and onsen. We really loved it!
