JJ's is a phenomenal hostel. It's a relatively big hostel, but the facilities are super clean and comfortable, and the wifi is great. There is also a fantastic vibe at the place (also partly due to the size) so there are always people around who are up for doing something fun. The volunteers are also great and really add to the place - there is yoga every morning and at least 1x group activity organised every day. Merissa is also a perfect place to base yourself if you want to visit other beaches along the coast. I would highly recommend!

My stay at 234 Weligama was wonderful, the location right on the beach is exactly what I was looking for! The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely made me feel welcome. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, with beautiful surroundings that make it perfect for unwinding, and overall it felt like excellent value for money. I’d happily return and recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway by the sea.
