I was in Colombo before and went to Negombo because its a nice place very near the airport. There were certain options to go to, curlys hostel was one of the cheapest in my case. I booked for 3 days and stayed at least 11 days because the room was perfect with a very comfortable bed (I was the only visitor for 8 days) and AC in a cozy house with everything I needed. Curly is a superb host, also the employeed house maker called aunty, the hostel got cleaned every day and the food was delicious. Drank also 'Old Arrack' from Rockland with ice there, can very recommend that spirit

The staff is very nice and always helpful. the owner really does everything to keep you comfortable and making the stay worth the money . Food is very nice as well try their cheese Kothu place is as clean as it gets

Comfy and clean rooms, lovely garden area outside and the owner was so friendly and helpful - he helped me organise a tuktuk to the airport and even knocked on the door to make sure I was awake in time to leave to catch my flight. Lovely place, would defstay again
