The location is unbeatable silent n peaceful. Dorms were super clean n new strong bunk bed with AC They have a great rooftop area for yoga n healing . nothing going on the week I was there but they should definitely utilise it as it’s an amazing space! Can see sunset n sunrise. Jiny is what makes the hostel, she is a bright, bubbly, caring person who loves each and every guest! She makes the hostel feel like home <3. Jib from Jiny in the bottle n jib mean is home in korean. Thanks for a great stay Sugar hostel :)

The Salty House is in a very good location for Welingama: beach, good restaurants and the supermarket closeby, even though the house is is a quiet street, to avoid the main road noise. There is a common kitchen (with everything and well maintened and clean!) to cook something in case once you are fed up of rice and curry! ;) The room was as I expected: there was soap, shampoo and bath gel, AC and ventilation, towels and a perch to hang clothes. Veronika is an incredible host: always ready to help, available to assist and very friendly! Thanks for the hospitality, as you know, I would have stayed longer ;)

Firstly the hostel looks different than the pictures, in a good way. They did lots of renovation after the available pictures on Booking. The general atmosphere is like a cool cafe. It is a very comfortable and clean hostel with twin-size bunk beds. The owners are super nice and friendly. They have ping pong tournaments every Friday night and open mic every Tuesday night. I was there at the ping pong tournament and it was so much fun with the excellent presentation of Justin! Such a high-energy person The location is called Midigama, in the middle of Ahangama and Weligama. It’s easy to cycle around (they have two cycles for the guest to use) or catch a local bus (they pass every few minutes in both directions) or a tuk-tuk, or you can rent a motorbike to reach the nearby places. There is a surf spot within walking distance (and there are few shops around to rent a surfboard, I haven’t seen any schools though)
